Monday January 8th , 1917.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana, •
met in regular sessi on at the office of said Board Monday
January 8th , 1917 , at 9 0' clock A. NI. All the membe rs of
said Board being present , Messrs, Bavis, Marlatt & McMinn.
The following proceedings were had , to-wit
The Board gra.nta.d the A. T. 8c T. Co. , of Indiana, permis-
sion to trim trees , provided always said trimming is done
in a neat and workman like manner, and the Board sele cted
Mr. Chowning, to oversee , said work , his services to be
paid for by said A. T.& T.Co . ,
The Board decide that under his bond with the City , they
have- no right to retain any money from the contract of
John F. Hipskind, in the matter of construction .of Intake
and Dis charge water line at City Light Plant ,. and on his
filing a maintenance bond , -the Board_. accepting the same &
now direct the nmount of $273 . 59 , retained on said contract
be paid to said. .John F. Hipskind.
The Board unanimously adopted Improvement resolution No. •
528 -1917 , for the improvement of North & South 3rd Street ,
from South "A" Street to the lst alley south of North • "D"
Street , by paving the roadway wi th one of the kinds of
modern City pavements, to -wit : - Asphalt-Brick-Concrete or
Creosoted Wood. Block , together with the necessary curb and
. gutter , where not already provided with a standard pave-
ment and curb in good condition.
The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Re'soluti on No.
529 -1917 , for construction of •Sanit ry Sewer in the alley
between South 5th & 6th Street , from South "C" to "D" St.
The Clerk was directed to request Mr. Clarence Gennett to
meet wi th the Board at their meeting of Thursday January
llth , 1917 , to take up the various claims of his company
against Light Plant .
Claims to the amount of 6,038 .40 were allowed ,-and ordered
paid.
