HomeMy Public PortalAboutPCM 2010-10-27FRASER PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES DATE: Wednesday, October 27, 2010 MEETING: Planning Commission Regular Meeting PLACE: Fraser Town Hall Board Room PRESENT Board: Commissioners: Chair Steve Sumrall; Fran Cook, Scotty Brent, Katie Soles, Philip Naill and Jean Wolter Staff: Town Planner, Catherine Trotter; Town Clerk, Lu Berger Others: See attached list Chairperson Sumrall called the meeting to order at 6:37 p.m. 1. Roll Call: 2. Approval of Agenda: Minutes of August 25, 2010 Commissioner Naill moved, and Commissioner Soles seconded the motion to approve the Agenda. Motion carried: 6 -0. 3. Open Forum: 4. Discussion and Possible Action Regarding: a. Recreation Center Landscaping Plan TP Trotter briefed the Commissioners on the Recreation Districts proposal of adding 10 trees to the landscaping to minimize the visual impact of the parking lot. TP Trotter recommended approval of the proposed plan. Dan O'Connell, president of the Fraser Valley Metropolitan Recreation District Board thanked the Commission for working with them in regards to the landscaping plan. Commissioner Soles moved, and Commissioner Cook seconded the motion to approve the Recreation Center Landscaping Plan with the condition that the 10 trees be maintained in a healthy condition and to be completed by October 30, 2011. Motion carried: 6 -0. b. Recommend approval of the Three Mile Plan The Three Mile Plan is a component of the Comprehensive Plan, which was amended in 2010. The PC reviewed the Three Mile Component of the Comprehensive Plan and recommends no changes at this time. Commissioner Brent moved, and Commissioner Naill seconded the motion to recommend approval of the Three Mile Plan. Motion carried: 6 -0. 5. Discussion: a. Byers Peak Ranch Development Planning Workshop Clark Lipscomb asked the Commission for ideas for the Byers Peak Ranch property and how it could be best utilized. The Commissioners gave their ideas for the development of the property. 6. Staff Choice: TC Berger: explained the process needed for a change on the Planning Commission. 7. Planning Commission Choice: TP Trotter: CRP final edit has arrived. Business expo went well. December 8 meeting for PC. Cancel November 24 December 29 Page 2 of 2 Commissioner Soles moved, and Commissioner Brent seconded the motion to adjourn. Motion carried: 6 -0.
