A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD ADOPTING
THE WORK HOUR RESTRICTION POLICY ON MAJOR ARTERIALS
WHEREAS, the City proposes to address traffic congestion due to construction
and maintenance activities during day time hours on City arterial streets; and
WHEREAS, work on City's designated arterial streets is proposed to be
scheduled during nighttime hours; and
WHEREAS, a policy on work hour restriction is proposed for adoption.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council designates the following arterial streets where
Work is only permitted for night time from 8:00 PM to 5:30 AM, Monday thru Friday:
• Imperial Highway (City limit to City limit)
• Long Beach Boulevard (Josephine Street to Martin Luther King Boulevard)
• Alameda Street (City limit to City limit)
• Martin Luther King Boulevard (1 -710 Freeway to Atlantic Avenue)
• Atlantic Avenue (Abbott Road to Los Flores Boulevard)
• Tweedy Boulevard ;(Long Beach Boulevard to State Street)
Section 2. Exemptions to the policy would include the following:
• Emergency repairs.
• If the maintenance work does not require a travel lane closure.
• City events or other City directed activities.
• Construction or events that the City Manager or her designee deems necessary
to be conducted during daytime.
Section 3. This Resolution 'shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
Section 4. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this Resolution.
