A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING
THE USE OF THE BATEMAN HALL AUDITORIUM AND WAIVING THE RENTAL
FEES, AND MARKETING SUPPORT IN THE AMOUNT OF. $1,200.00
WHEREAS, a request was made by the Greater Lynwood Chamber of
Commerce and by the Multicultural Foundation of Lynwood to host a "Celebrating
Fiestas Patrias in Lynwood" event at Bateman Hall Auditorium; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the event is to honor Mexico's Independence Day
and the Independence of five Central- American countries; and
WHEREAS, the event will take place on Friday, September 12; 2014 from 4 :00
p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City -Council approves the use of City facilities and the waiver
of rental fees in the amount of $900.00, and waive the marketing staff support services
for $300.00, for a TOTAL of $1,200.00
Section 2. The City Council further finds that the proposed event provides a
public benefit in the form of bringing awareness and cultural sensitivity to the community
and educates the public on the meaning and significance of Independence Days in
other countries.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 5th day of August, 2014.
