The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, set in regular session in the office of said Board Thursday February 17th a 1916 , at 9 o'clock A. M. All the members of said Board being present, Messrs, Batis, Yarlatt and Weginn• The following proceedings were had, to -wit: - The Bard unanimously adopted Declaratory Resolution No, Ill. 1916, for the opening of the a'_ley between South fllst & 22nd Street, from South "A" Street south to the north line of Tract 5" 1 . official Yap, of Richmond. The Board Unanimously adopted Improvement aesolution No. 494- 19160 for the improvement of the alley between North 9th 11Cth Street, by cement roadway from North "C" to "D" Street, The Street Com=issioner called attention to bad condition of street at Parkins Road Sc North 19th Street, the Engineer stated the County is partly to blame for existing conditions, the Board decide to take this matter up ri th the County Commissioners at their next meeting. The Bard meets to hear all persons interested, or whose proper- ty is affected by the improvement of North 5th Street, from North "A" to "D" Street , by paving the roadway wi th one of the kinds of modem city pavements, to -wit: Asphalt, Concrete, Brick, or Creosoted iocd Block, under Improvement nesolution No• 466_ 1916• After bearing all persons interested vdio appeared, the 9 Bard decides that the benefits to prcrerty liable to be assess- ed for said improvement are equal to the cost of same as esti- mated by the City Civil Engineer, less the sum the City will Pay, the city agree to pay the cost of the street & alley ia- tersectione, and not less than 3871.00 in addition thereto, ad on Motion of Mr. McMinn confirm the original resolution without modi fi cati on, The Bard meets to hear all persons interested, or whose FKperr ty is affected by the improvement of Ft-Nayne Avenue, fTOof tee Yatn tc Borth "D" Street, by paving the roadway with o�oncrek. The Board unanimously adopted ImPrcvement Resolution do, 4ia-1916 for the onstructi on of a 6cement sidewalk on north side cf forth "D" Street , from North 6th to 9th Street. Mr. Wilfred Jessup, Atty.for the nichmord Light, Beat & power Co., appeared before the Board, stating the above eompacy accepts the valuation placed upon their electric property by the Public Service Commission of Indiana, and gave the Bard the assurance that they would not appeal from the decision of the Commission, or would they in any manner hinder the ci ty in purchasing the property at the price fixed by the Commissions Siarod Johnson manager presented to the Board for their inspection a telegram from New York, signed by George B. Tripp, informing hia that he was authorized to announce immedi ately that Richmond Compan7 will not appeal 4 will accept price for electric property. Kr. Johnson requested that the Board call a meeting and ro over the valuation, and ask that the city not take any of their consumers as the city has purchased their property it was a waste of mone7 to cake tbeee changes, and he give the Bard the assurance that his com- pany would not take out any of the city's meters, pending the closing of the purchase, Thu Board then adjourned.
