The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
met in regular session at the office of said Board on Monday
February 218t, 1916, at 9 O'clock A. M. All the members of
said Board being present, Messrs, Bavis, Marlatt and McMinn.
The following proceedings were had, to -wit: -

appeared, the Board decides that the benefits to the property
liable to be assessed for said improvement are equal to the
cost of same as estimated by the City Civil Engineer, lees the

A remonstrance was presented signed by 45 resident property
owners, against the improvement of Richmond Ave, by paving the
roadway with brick, asphalt, concrete or creosoted wood block
�7 and resetting old curbing and constructing new curbing where
needed, from Doren Bridge to West 5th Street, after Investi-
gation the City Civil Engineer reported there are 79 owners of
property who reside on Richmond Ave., 45 of whom have sigeed
the remonstrance, the Board can proceed no further WJth said
Improvement this being a majority, unless authorized by ordi-
nance passed by 2/3 vote of the Common Council & approved by
the Mayor. On motion of Mr. Marlatt the Clerk was directed to
Prepare an ordinance and present the same to the CMXn Council
at their neat meeting for their consideration.
Claims to the amount of .$3312.05 were allowed and ordered paid.
Mr. Bond, presented a letter written to him in regard to gate
at the property of Mr. Rodenberg 81 Liberty Ave , swings ag out
ward and being dangerous, the ea me was referred to the Poln�
Department with instructions to notif Mr. Rodenberg to ha
hie gate in accordance with the city ordinances governing the
same .
The Board then adjourned,

The followingproceedings, to -wit: -
A petits on was presented for the construction of cement sidewalks
curb & putters on both sides of South "B" Street, from South 16th
Street to the alley between South 20th & 21st Street, referred to
City Civil Engineer for investigation.
The Board directed Geo. McKinley, Sealer of Weights & tteasures to
attend the annual convention of State, County & City Inspectors
of 'Weights & Measures to be held in Indianalolie, March 14tb, 151t.
& 16th, 19164 the City to pay his actual necessary expenses.
