trio Lighting & Power Plant, to proceed wi th the necesoury
work at the plant, for which purposes the money had been ap-
propriated for by the Common Council.

The following proceedings were had, to -wit:.
The Board directed the Clerk to advertise for bids for the crush(.'.
stone needed for ci ty's use for year ending April 1st, 1)17.
A petition was received for sewer and concrete roadway in the
alley between South 7th & 8th Street, from South "B" to "C" St.
and the Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 501-
1916, for improvement of the alley between South 7th d: Bth Street
by constructing cement roadway from South "B" to "C" Street and
sewer from South "C" St, north about 400 feet.
A petition was presented for cement roadway in the alley between
Ridge & Boyer Street, from School Street to alley south of Grant
Street, referred to City Civil Engineer, for plans etc.,
A petition was presented by 0. G. tiitchell, signed by all the
property owners of property abutting Southwest 9th Street, from
National Road to Southwest "A" Street, for improvement of street
by constructing cement sidewalks, curb & putters and roadway, be-
tween the points named, waiving all provisions of the law limit-
Ing the amount of their assessments to one half the valuation of
the lots for taxation which was referred to the City Civil En-
gineer for investigation and if correct to prepare plans for im-
proving said street with one of the four modern kinds of mater-
ials.
A potiti on was presented signed by more than 75N of the"propert;
owners abutting on North 7th Street, from Lain to North A Stre�'
Praying for an ornamental lighting system with posts on both
aides of said 7th Street between the points named, which was
ordered filed and held over for further petitions now being cir-
culated for various other streets, so as to make it uniform.
The Board decide that all petitions for oiling of city streets
must be filed on or be fo reApri 1 17th , 1916, and be in accord-
ance with acti on taken by Board on Jan. f7th, 1916. as regard,

The Street Commissioner was directed to employ men to P
repair the macadam streets, where needed.
