HomeMy Public PortalAbout03-03-2014 PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR RICHMOND POWER & LIGHT MARCH 3, 2014 The Board of Directors for Richmond Power& Light Plant met in regular session at 7 p.m. March 3, 2014 in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Building in said City. Chairperson Winget presided. ROLL CALL: Present were: Howard "Jack" Elstro, Bruce Wissel, Clayton Miller, Don Winget, Larry Parker, Misty Hollis, Ron Oler and Phil Quinn. Absent was Kelley Cruse-Nicholson. Also present were: James French, General Manager; Walt Chidester, City Attorney; Karen Chasteen, City Clerk; Battalion Chief Jerry Purcell; Mike Elstro; Nick Wilson; Media and Sergeant-at-Arms. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Mr. Parker moved to approve the minutes of the meeting held February 18, 2014, supported by Ms. Hollis. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion passed. APPROVAL OF BILLS, INVESTMENTS AND TRANSFERS: Upon recommendation of the Finance Committee, Ms. Hollis moved to approve the following bills for payment, supported by Mr. Parker. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion passed. Bills Already Paid: Payroll and Deductions 307,538.77 Transfers from Cash Operating to: Miscellaneous Prepaid Invoices 516,628.63 Telecom. Div. Misc. Pre Paid Invoices: 172,899.20 EFT/Direct Deposit of Payroll: 177,681.32 EFT Transfers: 356,102.83 Total Bills Not Paid: 48,501.82 Grand Total: $1,223,989.93 STREET LIGHT COMMITTEE: None OLD BUSINESS: • Mr. Wissel moved to authorize the General Manager to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the Indiana Municipal Power Agency relative to Whitewater Valley Generating Station, supported by Mr. Elstro. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. NEW BUSINESS: Due to the fact bids were received for both vehicles by the same companies, Mr. Parker moved to combine the quotes, supported by Mr. Oler. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. • The following quotes were received as follows: New 2014 3/4 ton extended cab pickup truck- Andy Moore-Indianapolis - $28,198.00 Stoops - $23,515.00 Wetzel—Ford - Richmond - $25,411.00 Wetzel—Chevrolet- Richmond - $26,053.00 Goodwin Brothers—New Castle - $35,530.00 Advantage Ford—Connersville - $31,144.00 New 2014 3/4 ton,4 door cab pickup truck- Andy Moore-Indianapolis - $34,052.00 Stoops - $26,125.00 Wetzel—Ford - Richmond - $27,998.00 Wetzel—Chevrolet—Richmond - $28,562.00 Goodwin Brothers—New Castle - $30,246.25 Advantage Ford—Connersville - $35,997.00 Mr. Miller moved to refer the bids to the General Manager for tabulation, evaluation and recommendation. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. REPORT BY GENERAL MANAGER: • RP&L—Board of Directors Minutes March 3,2014 Page 2 • The Richmond Police Department will be working with RP&L in reporting street lights that are out. • A Social Media policy has been developed. RP&L will be using Facebook and Twitter. MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS: None ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business and a motion duly made, the meeting was adjourned.
