HomeMy Public PortalAbout09-03-2013 PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR RICHMOND POWER & LIGHT SEPTEMBER 3, 2013 The Board of Directors for Richmond Power & Light Plant met in regular session at 7 p.m. September 3, 2013 in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Building in said City. Chairperson Wissel presided. ROLL CALL: Present were: Howard "Jack" Elstro, Kelley Cruse-Nicholson, Bruce Wissel, Clayton Miller, Don Winget, Larry Parker, Misty Hollis, Ron Oler and Phil Quinn. Also present were: James French, General Manager; Walt Chidester, City Attorney; Karen Chasteen, City Clerk; several RP&L employees & members of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers 1395; Media and Sergeant-at-Arms. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Mr. Parker moved to approve the minutes of the meeting held August 19, 2013, supported by Mr. Oler. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion passed. APPROVAL OF BILLS, INVESTMENTS AND TRANSFERS: Upon recommendation of the Finance Committee, Mr. Winget moved to approve the following bills for payment, supported by Ms. Hollis. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion passed. Bills Already Paid: • Payroll and Deductions 579,352.23 Transfers from Cash Operating to: Miscellaneous Prepaid Invoices 269,994.08 Telecom. Div. Misc. Pre Paid Invoices: 41,185.69 EFT/Direct Deposit of Payroll: 343,280.48 EFT Transfers: 4,802,504.32 Total Bills Not Paid: 139,910.35 Grand Total: $5,489,666.29 STREET LIGHT COMMITTEE: Mr. Winget presented a petition for an area of Oak Park. This petition will be presented to the Board of Works. OLD BUSINESS: None NEW BUSINESS: None REPORT BY GENERAL MANAGER: • Whitewater Station was in operation for the annual testing required the Environmental Protection Agency • Mr. French read a letter to the Editor re greenhouse gas emissions and the concern of fossil fuel generating plants. Mr. Parker asked the letter be forwarded to President Obama and members of Congress. • The 4th quarter Energy Cost Adjustment is completed and distributed to the Board. MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS: None ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business and a motion duly made,the meeting was adjourned.
