PLAINFIELD VILLAGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
CONTINUED MEETING OF JULY 1, 1996
HELD ON MONDAY, JULY 8, 1996

At 7:00 p.m. President Peterson called the meeting to order. Roll call was taken, all were
present. He then led the pledge to the flag.
The Board proceeded to enter into their regularly scheduled Workshop before the continued
meeting due to the fact there were members of the public and press present.
At 7:05 p.m. R. Smolich adjourned the continued meeting to go into the Workshop, and to
reconvene. Seconded by K. Stalzer. Voice vote. 5 yes, 1 absent. Motion carried.
M. Lambert arrived at 7:29 p.m.
At 8:15 p.m. R. Smolich moved to reconvene the continued meeting and to go immediately into
Executive Session for the specific purpose of discussion on personnel which will reconvene. .
Seconded by K. Stalzer. Vote by roll call. Dement, yes; Heimerdinger, yes; Lambert, yes; Rock,
yes; Smolich, yes; Stalzer, yes. 6 yes, 0 no. Motion carried.
At 8:45 p.m. the continued meeting was reconvened, present roll call stands.
J. Heimerdinger authorized the attorney to prepare a contract for Mr. J. P. McDonald to offer him
employment valid until May, 1997, included in the contract would be base salary of $65,000/yr.
and will include a leaving bonus of $10,000, and if Mr. McDonald moves into the Village, he
will receive a $300/month housing supplement during the terms of the contract. The contract
will also be all of the moral and ethical considerations ofprevious contracts for Village
Managers. Seconded by K. Stalzer. Vote by roll call. Dement, no; Heimerdinger, yes; Lambert,
yes; Rock, no; Smolich, yes; Stalzer, yes. 4 yes, 2 no. Motion carried.
