HomeMy Public PortalAbout02-06-2012 PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR RICHMOND POWER & LIGHT FEBRUARY 6, 2012 The Board of Directors for Richmond Power & Light Plant met in regular session at 7 p.m. February 6, 2012 in the Council Chambers in the Municipal Building in said City. Chairperson Wissel presided. ROLL CALL: Present were: Howard "Jack" Elstro, Kelley Cruse-Nicholson, Bruce Wissel, Clayton Miller, Don Winget, Larry Parker, Misty Hollis, Ron Oler and Phil Quinn. Also present were: Walt Chidester, City Attorney; Steve Saum, RP&L General Manager; Karen Chasteen, City Clerk; Jeff Plasterer, Wayne County Councilor; Brent Wolfe, Richmond Power and Light; Gordon Moore, Beals & Moore; Bill Thistlethwaite, Superintendent of Parks and Recreation; and, Tony Foster, Director of Metropolitan Development APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Mr. Parker moved to approve the minutes of the meeting held January 17, 2012, supported by Mr. Miller. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion passed. APPROVAL OF BILLS, INVESTMENTS AND TRANSFERS: Upon recommendation of the Finance Committee, Mr. Parker moved to approve the following bills for payment, supported by Ms. Hollis. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion passed. Bills Already Paid: Payroll and Deductions $648,691.87 Transfers from Cash Operating to: Miscellaneous Prepaid Invoices - 454,343.01 Telecom. Div. Misc. Pre Paid Invoices: 79,129.45 EFT/Direct Deposit of Payroll: 369,673.70 EFT Transfers: 385,423.55 Total Bills Not Paid: 352,639.00 Grand Total: $1,550,553.18 STREET LIGHT COMMITTEE: None OLD BUSINESS: None NEW BUSINESS: An Executive Session has been scheduled for February 9, 2012, 11:00 AM in the Council Conference Room. REPORT BY GENERAL MANAGER: • There has been discussion with coal and transportation companies regarding the potential purchase of additional coal • Insurance renewal negotiations are under way MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS: The Richmond Power and Light "family" extended condolences to the family of Bing Welch. His passing is a great loss to this community. ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business and a motion duly made, the meeting was adjourned.
