The Board of Public iiorks of the City of r.ichmond, lndiana, met
in regular seseion at the office of said Board L:onday September,
llth, 1916, at 9 o'clock A. Y. All the members of said Board
being present, Lieesrs, Bavis, Marlatt and L:cLlinn. The following
proceedings were had, tc-vit:-
The Board meets to hear remonstrances, if any, of persons pri-
marily assessed on account of openin¢ approach to alley running
Beet from North 11th Street at the bridge, under Declaratory
resolution no. 116-1916, No one appearing or remonstrating the
Board approved a final assessment roll of benefits and damages
confirming in all things the original assessment roll as here-
tofore approved, and nov. direct the same be transmitted forth-
with to the .epartment cf Finance, and the gvound necessary for
said approach is hereby declared aprropriated and condemned and
alley declared opened to North 1£th Street.
The Board approved a primary assessment roll under Improvement
Reeolution Ho. 489-1916, providing for the improvement of South
9tb Street, by constructing asphalt roadway from Main to South
"A" Street.
The Board approved the contract & bond of Schneider Bros., con-
tractors under Improvement resolution no. 5f4-1916, fcr cement
C. & G. on both sides of SW.3rd St, from national Road to South -
vest "E" Street.
The Board approved the contract & bond of John F. Hipskird, con-
tractor for the construction of Intake & Discharge water line
at M.E.L. & P.P. to river.
The Board approved a plat representing 15<' town lots, Iio. from
1 to 15£ inclusive, laid out by C. & S. Ratliff, north of Ben-
ton Heights, known as Fairview. Heights.
The Board received notice of ruling of the Fublic Service Commis-
sion of Indiana, in the hearing of Gas rate case, together with
the rates as fixed by said corrr.i esi on for ni chmond.
The Board agrees to let 17.H.Settle, have the use of lot belcng-
Ing to the City located on north 15th Street for gardening pur-
poses for the year 1917, for the sum of $1£.00 for the year.
The Board directed the Street Commissioner to bowlder the alley
on hillside known as north "B" Street.
The Board directed the Sup't. of light plant to remove the role
between Ii.11th & JEth St, in rear of 1L.Kelly garage.
The Board directed the Clerk to notify C.E.Se'1, to cut the weeds
from his lot on Chestnut Street,

The City Civil Engineer, reported the completion of contract and :
Improvement peso luti on No. 465-1916, for the improvement of Rich-
mond Avenue from Doran Bridge to best 5th Street, by paving the
roadway wi th Asphalt, and resetting old curbing & constructing
new curbing where needed, The Board a cepted the same and ordered
assessment roll prepared.
The City Civil Engineer retorted the completion of contract under
Improvement hesoluti on No. 517-1916, for the improvement of Reeve
ton Road from S.16th to east side of 18th St, South 17th St, Street
