Monday December 4th, 1916.
The Board of Public Works of the City of nichmond, Indiana,
met in regular session at the office of said Board Monday
December 4th, 19166 at 9 o'clock A. M. The following members
of said Board being present, Messrs. Bevis and Marlatt,
Absent, biro ITeMinn. Two members of said Board being present,
the following proceedings were had, to -wit: -
Wm. J. Robbins, Liayor of city, in letter written to Board
suggested that the Board have street commissioner to use
both the street sweepers part of the time and one of them all
the time, as we have 3 times as much paved streets to look
after as we had at the beginning of 1914; also that the busiest
section of Main Street for several squares be cleaned either
late of a Saturday night or early Sunday morning, also some
of the side streets where there are hitch -racks, on motion
the letter was referred to the Street Como issioner, with in-
structions to carry out the suggestions of the btayor.
Mr, L'elpolder, Secy., of Social Service Bureau, appeared be-
fore the Board, requesting the City to grant the Bureau the
use of the ground on Newmans Hill, belonging to City, for
the purpose of placing a portable house there6n, for a I.Ir.
Shank, suffering with tuberculosis, the Board referred the
matter to the City Attorney, as to the city's rights, and
for agreements to be entered into by Board and Bureau.
The Board fixed the price, at which the Standard Supply Co.,
may tap the sewer in North "G" Street north of their plant
at $15.00, and instructed the City Civil Engineer according-
ly.
The Board then adjourned. n

may investigate and fix the blame of said breakage.
The Clerk was directed to notify Dr, S.G.Smelser, of complaint
in matter of sewage disposal at No. 220 - f22 North fOth Street,
O,B.Fulghum, Agt., and to instruct the Health vepartment to
investigate and order sewer taps made under the ordinances of
the City,
The Clerk was directed to advertise for bids for 200 ft, of 2i
inch hose, for street department,
The various pay -rolls of the city to Dec. 3rd, 1916, were approve+.
Claims to the amount of $4672.41 were allowed & ordered paid,
The Clerk was directed to notify"Treasurer Cityl to furnish the
City Controller & County Auditor, with a certified list of all
delinquent property, on Improvement assessments, under See. 87f0
