HomeMy Public PortalAbout01-18-2011 PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR RICHMOND POWER & LIGHT JANUARY 18, 2011 The Board of Directors for Richmond Power & Light Plant met in regular session at 7 p.m. January 18, 2011 in the Council Chambers in the Municipal Building in said City. Chairperson Wissel presided. ROLL CALL: Present were: Howard "Jack" Elstro, Kelley Cruse-Nicholson, Bruce Wissel, Clayton Miller, Bing Welch, Larry Parker, Diana Pappin, Bob Goodwin and Phil Quinn. Also present were: Steve Saum, General Manager; Walt Chidester, City Attorney; Karen Chasteen, City Clerk. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Mr. Parker moved to approve the minutes of the special meeting for the election of officers and the regular meeting held January 4, 2011, supported by Ms. Pappin. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion passed. APPROVAL OF BILLS, INVESTMENTS AND TRANSFERS: Upon recommendation of the Finance Committee, Ms. Pappin moved to approve the following bills for payment, supported by Mr. Goodwin. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion passed. Bills Already Paid: Payroll and Deductions 322,534.13 Transfers from Cash Operating to: Miscellaneous Prepaid Invoices 2,434,817.30 Telecom. Div. Misc. Pre Paid Invoices: 7,498.31 EFT/Direct Deposit of Payroll: 131,376.30 EFT Transfers: 3,231,006.84 Total Bills Not Paid: 200.871.32 Grand Total: $6,065,351.60 STREET LIGHT COMMITTEE: None OLD BUSINESS: None NEW BUSINESS: Mr. Saum requested approval to receive bids on a new transformer for the Whitewater Valley Generating Station as approved in the budget. Mr. Welch moved to authorize the General Manager to receive bids, supported by Ms. Cruse-Nicholson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion passed. REPORT BY GENERAL MANAGER: • Harry Phillips and Mr. Saum will be on PI Live January 20 to discussion the proposed gasification process. • Generation has been constant for approximately six weeks. ■ There are several contractors interested in bidding on the new storeroom.
