HomeMy Public PortalAbout09-20-2010 PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR RICHMOND POWER & LIGHT SEPTEMBER 20, 2010 The Board of Directors for Richmond Power& Light Plant met in regular session at 7 p.m. September 20, 2010 in the Council Chambers in the Municipal Building in said City. Chairperson Welch presided. ROLL CALL: Present were: Howard "Jack" Elstro, Kelley Cruse-Nicholson, Bruce Wissel, Clayton Miller, Bing Welch, Larry Parker, Diana Pappin, Bob Goodwin and Phil Quinn. Also present were: General Manager Steve Saum, City Attorney Walt Chidester and City Clerk Karen Chasteen. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Mr. Miller moved to approve the minutes of September 7, 2010 with the following amendment: INDIANA UTILITY REGULATORY COMMISSION DEMAND RESPONSE: There was some discussion but nothing major at this time. STATEWIDE DEMAND SIDE MANAGEMENT: RP&L should know the third and fourth party administrators in the next week or so. This motion was supported by Ms. Cruse-Nicholson. Upon a vote vive voce, the motion passed. APPROVAL OF BILLS, INVESTMENTS AND TRANSFERS: Upon recommendation of the Finance Committee, Ms. Pappin moved to approve the following bills for payment, supported by Mr. Goodwin. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion passed. Bills Already Paid: Payroll and Deductions 313,253.04 Transfers from Cash Operating to: Miscellaneous Prepaid Invoices 904,147.45 Telecom. Div. Misc. Pre Paid Invoices: 22,921.07 EFT/Direct Deposit of Payroll: 122,593.95 EFT Transfers: 2,190,449.65 Total Bills Not Paid: 236,806.85 Grand Total: $3,544,984.11 STREET LIGHT COMMITTEE: None OLD BUSINESS: None NEW BUSINESS: Mr. Saum requested authorization to receive bids for a new trencher for the Line Department to replace a 1991 Ditchwitch trencher, as previously approved in the budget. Mr. Parker moved to grant this authorization, supported by Mr. Wissel. Upon a vote vive voce, the motion passed. REPORT BY GENERAL MANAGER: ■ Generation has ceased in September due to mild weather • • The Demand Side Meeting with the Indiana Municipal Power Agency will be scheduled soon. • Reminder—meeting to discuss Building Study will be September 27. • Several bids have been received for investments. • Lighting has been installed on South 9th Street illuminating the Hoagy Carmichael mural. MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS: None ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business and a motion duly made, the meeting was adjourned.
