HomeMy Public PortalAbout07-19-2010 PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR RICHMOND POWER & LIGHT JULY 19, 2010 The Board of Directors for Richmond Power & Light Plant met in regular session at 7 p.m. July 19, 2010 in the Council Chambers in the Municipal Building in said City. Chairperson Welch presided. ROLL CALL: Present were: Howard "Jack" Elstro, Kelley Cruse-Nicholson, Bruce Wissel, Clayton Miller, Bing Welch, Larry Parker, Diana Pappin, Bob Goodwin and Phil Quinn. Also present were: Randy Baker, RP&L; Kim Vessels, Assistant City Attorney and Karen Chasteen, City Clerk. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Mr. Parker moved to approve the minutes of the meeting held July 6, 2010, supported by Ms. Pappin. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion passed. APPROVAL OF BILLS, INVESTMENTS AND TRANSFERS: Upon recommendation of the Finance Committee, Ms. Pappin moved to approve the following bills for payment, supported by Mr. Goodwin. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion passed. Bills Already Paid: Payroll and Deductions 328,252.17 Transfers from Cash Operating to: Miscellaneous Prepaid Invoices 1,005,939.15 Telecom. Div. Misc. Pre Paid Invoices: 11,378.74 EFT/Direct Deposit of Payroll: 129,162.84 EFT Transfers: 4,394,917.56 Total Bills Not Paid: 547,850.39 Grand Total: $6,159,175.17 STREET LIGHT COMMITTEE: Mr. Welch asked that the request for two street lights on Parkdale Drive be revisited. There are savings due to construction on National Road West which would more than cover the usage of these two lights. Mr. Elstro will discuss this with RP&L; however, he thinks it would not be a good example for other existing requests. OLD BUSINESS: None NEW BUSINESS: One of the boilers for the hearing system needs to be replaced. It is too old to repair. The cost is approximately $35,000. Mr. Elstro moved to amend the budget not to exceed $35,000 for this boiler, supported by Ms. Cruse-Nicholson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion passed. REPORT BY GENERAL MANAGER: • Whitewater has been generating this past month • Reminder: there will be a meeting on July 26, 2010 for a more detailed updated on the Whitewater Generating Station.
