HomeMy Public PortalAbout05-17-2010 PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR RICHMOND POWER& LIGHT MAY 17, 2010 The Board of Directors for Richmond Power & Light Plant met in regular session at 7 p.m. May 17, 2010 i the Council Chambers in the Municipal Building in said City. Chairperson Welch presided. ROLL CALL: Present were: Howard "Jack" Elstro, Kelley Cruse-Nicholson, Bruce Wissel, Clayton Miller, Bing Welch, Larry Parker, Diana Pappin, Bob Goodwin and Phil Quinn. Also present were: General Manager Steve Saum, City Attorney Walt Chidester and City Clerk Karen Chasteen. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Mr. Parker moved to approve the minutes of the meeting held May 3 and Special Meeting on April 26, •010, supported by Ms. Pappin. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion passed. APPROVAL OF BILLS, INVESTMENTS AND TRANSFERS: Upon recommendation of the Finance Committee, Ms. Pappin moved to approve the following bills for pay ent, supported by Mr. Goodwin. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion passed. Bills Already Paid: Payroll and Deductions 316,175.22 Transfers from Cash Operating to: Miscellaneous Prepaid Invoices 131,293.09 Telecom. Div. Misc. Pre Paid Invoices: 65,810.35 EFT/Direct Deposit of Payroll: 123,572.38 EFT Transfers: 3,791,709.00 Total Bills Not Paid: 315.983.63 Grand Total: $4,497,398.91 STREET LIGHT COMMITTEE: None OLD BUSINESS: • AWARD BID: Architectural Study for Richmond Power&Light Business Center Mr. Wissel moved to accept the Proof of Publication as presented by Mr. Saum, supported by Mr. Parker. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion passed. Mr. Saum recommended Lorenz Williams Clinton be awarded the bid in the amount of Three Thou and Dollars and Zero Cents ($3,000.00) for a survey of existing building and conceptual drawing. Mr. iller moved to approve awarding this bid as recommended by Mr. Saum, supported by Ms. Cruse-Nicho son. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion passed. • Messrs. Wissel and Quinn accompanied RP&L representatives on a trip to the Eastern Kentucky "g -en" generating station. A report is forthcoming. NEW BUSINESS: None REPORT BY GENERAL MANAGER: • A Parallax update will be June 7. • The tree trimming program is showing results with the lowest amount of power outages on record in r:cent months. • Due to mild weather, RP&L is still not generating, • The Prime Group will be doing a rate study—this is done every five years. • The Exit Interview for the annual State Board of Accounts audit will be June 10. • First Merchants Bank is interesting is reviewing the possibility of investing RP&L funds. • A copy of the updated Cap and Trade(American Power Act)was distributed to the Board.
