HomeMy Public PortalAbout06-29-2009 PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR RICHMOND POWER & LIGHT MONDAY, JUNE 29, 2009 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a Board in charge of the operations of the Richmond Power & Light Plant met in regular session at 7 p.m. June 29, 2009 in the Council Chambers in the Municipal Building in said City. Chairperson Quinn presided. ROLL CALL: Board members present were: Howard "Jack" Elstro, Kelley Cruse-Nicholson, Bruce Wissel, Clayton Miller, Bing Welch, Larry Parker, Diana Pappin, Bob Goodwin and Phil Quinn. Also present were Steve Saum, Richmond Power and Light General Manager, Rich Cody, Parallax, Walt Chidester, City Attorney and Karen Chasteen, City Clerk. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Mr. Parker moved to approve the minutes of the meeting held June 1, 2009, supported by Mr. Welch. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion passed. APPROVAL OF BILLS, INVESTMENTS AND TRANSFERS: Upon recommendation of the Finance Committee, Ms. Pappin moved to approve the following bills for payment, supported by Mr. Goodwin. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion passed. Bills Already Paid: Payroll and Deductions 663,918.87 Transfers from Cash Operating to: Miscellaneous Prepaid Invoices 506,789.99 Telecom. Div. Misc. Pre Paid Invoices: 101,052.03 EFT/Direct Deposit of Payroll: 246,696.23 EFT Transfers: 4,237,376.22 Total Bills Not Paid: 655.790.70 Grand Total: $5,918,231.58 STREET LIGHT COMMITTEE: None OLD BUSINESS: None NEW BUSINESS: None REPORT BY GENERAL MANAGER: • Mr. Saum reported there was good discussion regarding the Cap and Trade legislation and Green Energy at the National American Public Power Agency Conference. • Barnes and Thornburg has drafted a response letter to the Environmental Protection Agency that presents the case of Richmond Power and Light. • Mr. Cody presented the year-to-date report for Parallax. • Liability and vehicle insurance policies are being reviewed in preparation for renewals. • RP&L has been generating for the past two weeks. The market is not good but we are breaking even. MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS: None ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business and a motion duly made, the meeting was adjourned.
