HomeMy Public PortalAbout06-01-2009 PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS A BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR THE RICHMOND POWER& LIGHT PLANT MONDAY, JUNE 1, 2009 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a Board in charge of the operations of the Richmond Power & Light Plant met in regular session at 7 p.m. June 1, 2009 in the Council Chambers in the Municipal Building in said City. Chairperson Quinn presided. ROLL CALL: Present were: Howard "Jack" Elstro, Kelley Cruse-Nicholson, Bruce Wissel, Clayton Miller, Bing Welch, Larry Parker, Diana Pappin, Bob Goodwin and Phil Quinn. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Mr. Parker moved to approve the minutes of the meeting held May 18, 2009, supported by Ms. Cruse-Nicholson. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion passed. APPROVAL OF BILLS, INVESTMENTS AND TRANSFERS: Upon recommendation of the Finance Committee, Ms. Pappin moved to approve the following bills for payment, supported by Mr. Goodwin. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion passed. Bills Already Paid: Payroll and Deductions 320,626.48 Investments Purchased From: Depreciation Reserve Fund 3,000,000.00 Transfers from Cash Operating to: Miscellaneous Prepaid Invoices 268,813.98 Telecom. Div. Misc. Pre Paid Invoices: 28,422.75 EFT/Direct Deposit of Payroll: -130,126.28 EFT Transfers: 3,973,235.91 Total Bills Not Paid: 114.676.07 Grand Total: $7,575,648.91 STREET LIGHT COMMITTEE: None OLD BUSINESS: None NEW BUSINESS: None REPORT BY GENERAL MANAGER: • The State Board of Accounts Exit Interview went well. The final audit report will be complete by August. • Mr. Saum attended an Energy Summit Update with Republican legislators in Indianapolis to discuss the Cap and Trade bill. The consensus is that it is not in the best interest of the Midwest. Mr. Saum encouraged citizens to contact their legislators and ask them to vote against this bill. There is additional information on the Richmond Power and Light website. • There was a brief interruption in service on Sunday due to the severe weather.
