HomeMy Public PortalAbout04-06-2009 PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS A BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR THE RICHMOND POWER & LIGHT PLANT MONDAY, APRIL 6, 2009 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a Board in charge of the operations of the Richmond Power& Light Plant met in regular session at 7 p.m. April 6, 2009 in the Council Chambers in the Municipal Building in said City. Chairperson Quinn presided. ROLL CALL: Present were: Howard "Jack" Elstro, Kelley Cruse-Nicholson, Bruce Wissel, Clayton Miller, Bing Welch, Larry Parker, Diana Pappin, Bob Goodwin and Phil Quinn. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Board member Parker moved to approve the minutes of the meeting held March 16, 2009, supported by Board member Welch. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion passed. APPROVAL OF BILLS, INVESTMENTS AND TRANSFERS: Upon recommendation of the Finance Committee, Board member Pappin moved to approve the following bills for payment, supported by Board member Goodwin. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion passed. Bills Already Paid: Payroll and Deductions 635,679.48 Transfers from Cash Operating to: Miscellaneous Prepaid Invoices 254,896.41 Telecom. Div. Misc. Pre Paid Invoices: 74,868.52 EFT/Direct Deposit of Payroll: 243,838.23 EFT Transfers: 2,919,773.14 Total Bills Not Paid: 1.404.518.29 Grand Total: $5,045,897.61 STREET LIGHT COMMITTEE: None OLD BUSINESS: None NEW BUSINESS: None REPORT BY GENERAL MANAGER: • Turbine No. 2 will be back in service next week • The State Audit will begin on April 7 • The American Public Power Agency Rodeo was held in Austin—RP&L was represented well • The "Cap and Trade" bill has been presented by Sen. Waxman. Mr. Saum will track this legislation. It could cause a significant increase in rates. Mr. Saum encouraged citizens to contact their legislators • April 20 is the deadline for reservations for the National Conference MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS: None ADJOURNMENT: 111 There being no further business and a motion duly made, the meeting was adjourned.
