HomeMy Public PortalAboutCity Council Minutes 02-08-1971 Special Meeting of the City Council February 8, 1971 Meeting was called to order at 6:30 P.M. by Mayor Pro-Tem Rush Klein, present vaere Councilanen Noyes, Launius, Morgan and Davis. Meeting was called to discuss the low bid of Triangle Construction Co, for the fire station. Mr. J. Matt Carr - structual Engineer has approved the foundation for the fire station. Some adjustments made in the building lovaered the cost to $37,559.50. Discussion was held as to the expension of the various depts. as follows: 1. Fire station - new 2. Police Station - Moved into vacated Fire Station. 3. Water Dept. - Expand into vacated police station - cells become permanent office record storage. Library move into net•a vacility across street. 5. City Hall expand into old library area. Phase 1 Construction New fire hall • Relocate Police Dept. New floor in Library Motion made by Noyes, second by Launius to accept bid on fire station as of letter dated February nth, by Triangle Construction Co., bid being 37,559.50, and Chief Abbott to get concrete bid on the re- modeling of the fire stat'_on into the police dept. Unianimously approved. Motion made by Noyes, seconded by Launius to authorize the City Secretary to pay for the Capital Improvement Programs from various Surplus Funds in the City accounts.
