HomeMy Public PortalAbout08-18-2008 PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS A BOARD IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE RICHMOND POWER & LIGHT PLANT MONDAY, AUGUST 18, 2008 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a Board in charge of the operations of the Richmond Power & Light Plant met in regular session at 7 p.m. August 18, 2008 in the Council Chambers in the Municipal Building in said City. Chairperson Welch presided. ROLL CALL: Present were: Howard "Jack" Elstro, Kelley Cruse-Nicholson, Bruce Wissel, Clayton Miller, Bing Welch, Larry Parker, Diana Pappin, Bob Goodwin and Phil Quinn. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Board member Parker moved to approve the minutes of the meeting held August 4, 2008, supported by Board member Miller. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion passed. APPROVAL OF BILLS, INVESTMENTS AND TRANSFERS: Upon recommendation of the Finance Committee, Board member Pappin moved to approve the following bills for payment, supported by Board member Quinn. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion passed. Bills Already Paid: Payroll and Deductions 324,643.82 Investments Purchased From: Utility Bond Reserve Fund 2,207,978.74 Depreciation Reserve Fund 350,000.00 ' Transfers from Cash Operating to: Miscellaneous Prepaid Invoices 166,252.08 Telecom. Div. Misc. Pre Paid Invoices: 26,901.38 EFT/Direct Deposit of Payroll: 120,533,54 Prepaid Invoices: 1,420,275.07 Bills Not Paid: 2,076,423.88 Grand Total: $6,451,941.43I/ STREET LIGHT COMMITTEE: None OLD BUSINESS: None NEW BUSINESS: General Manager Steve Saum requested authorization to receive bids for a 2008/2009 62-foot bucket truck to replace Unit #15, a 1996 bucket truck with 5,025 miles as approved in the 2008 budget. Councilor Miller moved to authorize Mr. Saum to receive the aforementioned bids, supported by Board member Cruse-Nicholson. REPORT BY GENERAL MANAGER: • Unit No. 1 is back on line after being off during mild weather. ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business and a motion duly made,the meeting was adjourned.
