HomeMy Public PortalAbout06-16-2008 • PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS A BOARD IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE RICHMOND POWER & LIGHT PLANT MONDAY, JUNE 16, 2008 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a Board in charge of the operations of the Richmond Power & Light Plant met in regular session at 7 p.m. June 16, 2008 in the Council Chambers in the Municipal Building in said City. Chairperson Welch presided. ROLL CALL: Present were: Howard "Jack" Elstro, Kelley Cruse-Nicholson, Bruce Wissel, Clayton Miller, Bing Welch, Larry Parker, Diana Pappin, and Phil Quinn. Absent was Bob Goodwin. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Board member Parker moved to approve the minutes of the meeting held June 2, 2008, supported by Board member Wissel. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion passed. APPROVAL OF BILLS, INVESTMENTS AND TRANSFERS: Upon recommendation of the Finance Committee, Board member Pappin moved to approve the following bills for payment with a second by Board member Quinn. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion passed. . Bills Already Paid: Payroll and Deductions 323,657.13 Transfers from Cash Operating to: Miscellaneous Prepaid Invoices 193,996.30 Telecom. Div. Misc. Pre Paid Invoices: 62,060.40 Total EFT/Direct Deposit of Payroll: (118,889.56) Total EFT Transfers: 88,350.45 Total Prepaids plus EFT Transfers: 549,174.72 Total Bills Not Paid: 2,009,842.08 Grand Total: $2,559,016.80 STREET LIGHT COMMITTEE: None OLD BUSINESS: None NEW BUSINESS: None REPORT BY GENERAL MANAGER: • The agreement with IMPA re North American Electric Reliability Council standards has been finalized. • Unit#1 was down for a while but the leak has been repaired. • The PGM market was at$120 this date. • Abbreviated balance sheets were distributed for review. They can be accessed on line. • A six month review of fuel savings of three hybrid vehicles indicates a savings of approximately $4100 annually. RP&L will be purchasing additional hybrids. • Due to the recent storms, six linemen traveled to Anderson to assist.
