HomeMy Public PortalAbout06-02-2008 PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS A BOARD IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE RICHMOND POWER & LIGHT PLANT MONDAY, JUNE 2, 2008 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a Board in charge of the operations of the Richmond Power& Light Plant met in regular session at 7 p.m. June 2, 2008 in the Council Chambers in the Municipal Building in said City. Chairperson Welch presided. ROLL CALL: Present were: Howard "Jack" Elstro, Kelley Cruse-Nicholson, Bruce Wissel, Clayton Miller, Bing Welch, Larry Parker, Diana Pappin, Bob Goodwin and Phil Quinn. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Board member Parker moved to approve the minutes of the meeting, held May 19, 2008. Board member Miller seconded. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion passed. APPROVAL OF BILLS, INVESTMENTS AND TRANSFERS: Upon recommendation of the Finance Committee, Board member Pappin moved to approve the following bills for payment with a second by Board member Quinn. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion passed. Bills Already Paid: Payroll and Deductions 312,241.97 Transfers from Cash Operating to: Miscellaneous Prepaid Invoices 293,596.53 Telecom. Div. Misc. Pre Paid Invoices: 8,711.64 Total Prepaid Invoices: 614,550.14 Total EFT/Direct Deposit of Payroll: (123,896.55) Total Prepaid Invoices: 490,653.59 Total EFT Transfers: 787,016.73 Total Prepaids plus EFT Transfers: 1,277,670.32 Total Bills Not Paid: 457.567.53 Grand Total: $1,735,237.85 STREET LIGHT COMMITTEE: None OLD BUSINESS: ■ AWARD BIDS FOR TWO 2008 4-DOOR HYBRID SEDANS: Mr. Saum recommended awarding the bid to Wetzel Dodge Honda in the amount of$44,220.00 for two 2008 Hybrid Civics. Board member Miller moved to approve the recommendation, with a second by Board member Parker. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion passed. NEW BUSINESS: None REPORT BY GENERAL MANAGER: • Richmond Power and Light has entered into negotiations with the Indiana Municipal Power Agency relative to the PGM market/capacity sales. If approved, the revenue is estimated to be $2.25 million. • Both Units are on line as of June 2. • RP&L is entering into an agreement with IMPA re North American Electric Reliability Council standards.
