At 7:15 p.m. President Peterson commenced the Public Hearing on the 1996-97 Tax Levy.
PUBLIC HEARING ON 1996-97 TAX LEVY
The Village of Plainfield is required to propose a Tax Levy for the following fiscal year by the
last Tuesday in December. Key components of the 1996 Levy: 1) 14.6% growth in E.A.V.; 2)
2.7% is the 1996 CPIU Tax Cap; 3) $13,700,000 New Growth; 4) $400,000 New Annexation.
We anticipate the 1996 Levy Rate to be reduced by .587% to $0.7127 which includes Sewer
Bonds per $100 E.A.V. The Tax Extension Revenue will increase by 10.0% to a total of
$970,113.
Administrator McDonald stated that the Village of Plainfield has complied by advertising in the
local Enterprise Paper telling the public that a Hearing on 1996-97 Tax Levy will be held today,
December 16, 1996.
J. Heimerdinger moved to adjourn the Public Hearing. Seconded by J. Dement. Voice vote. S
yes, 0 no. Motion carried.
