Currently the Tybee Island Fire Department has 32
Volunteer Firefighters and 1 Full Time Firefighter. We
have 3 Part Time Firefighters who are Master
Firefighters. Additionally, we have 3 First Responders
for Rescue 6 who are not firefighters.

Emergency Management:
• I have attended meetings of the Chatham County Multi-jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation
Plan Update Risk Assessment and Mitigation Strategy.These meetings pertain to the
update of the 2010 Plan.
• I have attended the January Green Team meeting.
• I have attended the Local CRS Group Meetings.
• I was able to coordinate through CEMA the below described training opportunities for
two City Departments.
• Fire Department — CEMA 101 — Introduction to CEMA and MCI Response- Mass
Casualty Incident Response
• Finance Department — Disaster Finance — Review the process and forms required to
document response operations during disaster situations.
• I attended the February Public Safety Committee meeting.
I have attended the March Local Community Rating System Users Group Meeting.
