HomeMy Public PortalAbout11-21-2005 PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS A BOARD IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE RICHMOND POWER & LIGHT PLANT MONDAY, NOVEMBER 21, 2005 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a Board in charge of the operations of the Richmond Power & Light Plant met in regular session at 7 p.m. Monday, November 21, 2005 in the Council Chambers in the Municipal Building in said City. Chairperson Welch presided. ROLL CALL: Present were: Howard "Jack" Elstro, Etta Lundy, Bruce Wissel, Karl Sharp, Bing Welch, Larry Parker,Al Glover, Diana Pappin and Gil Klose. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Board member Parker moved to approve the minutes of the meeting held November 7, 2005. Board member Sharp seconded. The motion carried with a unanimous voice vote. APPROVAL OF BILLS, INVESTMENTS AND TRANSFERS: Upon recommendation of the Finance Committee, Board member Pappin moved to approve the following bills for payment with a second by Board member Klose. The motion carried with a voice vote. Bills Already Paid: Payroll and Deductions - 293,322.09 Transfers from Cash Operating to: Miscellaneous Prepaid Invoices 205,453.26 Telecom. Div. Misc. Pre Paid Invoices: 42,326.11 Total Prepaid Invoices: 541,101.46 Total EFT/Direct Deposit of Payroll: (109,910.44) Total Prepaid Invoices: 434,101.02 Total EFT Transfers: 4,912,064.49 Total Prepaids plus EFT Transfers: 5,346,255.51 Total Bills Not Paid: 814,519.06 Grand Total: $6,160, 774.57 STREET LIGHT COMMITTEE: None OLD BUSINESS: V Mr. Osborn recommended Kuhlman Electric be awarded the bid on a power transformer for the Highland Road Substation. The amount of the bid was $462,399. Board member Parker moved to award the bid to Kuhlman Electric based on the best bid of $462,399 with a second by Board member Klose. The motion carried with a unanimous voice vote. REPORT BY GENERAL MANAGER: • New monthly billing formats were presented to the Board. The new format will be more cost effective. • Regarding the two REMC customers on Highland Road: The cost for RP&L to take over the service to these properties would be in excess of$11,000. It was determined to be too expensive at this time. • There will be a special meeting of the Board at RP&L November 28, 2005. ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business,the meeting was adjourned.
