HomeMy Public PortalAbout04-18-2005 PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS A BOARD IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE RICHMOND POWER & LIGHT PLANT MONDAY, APRIL 18, 2005 The Common.Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a Board in charge of the operations of the Richmond Power & Light Plant met in regular session at 7 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2005 in the Council Chambers in the Municipal Building in said City. Chairperson Welch presided. ROLL CALL: Present were: Howard "Jack" Elstro, Etta Lundy, Bruce Wissel, Karl Sharp,'Bing Welch, Larry Parker, Al Glover, Diana Pappin and Gil Klose. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Board member Parker moved to approve the minutes of the meeting held April 4, 2005.' Board member Wissel seconded. The motion carried with a unanimous voice vote. APPROVAL OF BILLS, INVESTMENTS AND TRANSFERS: Upon recommendation of the Finance Committee, Board member Pappin moved to approve the following bills for payment with a second by Board member Elstro. The motion carried with a voice vote. Bills Already Paid: Payroll and Deductions 296,111.94 Investments Purchased From: Depreciation Reserve Fund 5,98,851.57 Cash Reserve Fund _ 537,927.00 Total 6,456,778.57 Miscellaneous Prepaid Invoices 122,110.71 Telecom. Div. Misc. Pre Paid Invoices: 9,332.00 Total 6,884,333.22 Less EFT/Direct Deposit of Payroll (106,183.14) Total Prepaid Invoices: 6,778,150.08 Total EFT Transfers: 2,123,139.71 Total Prepaids plus EFT Transfers: 8,901,289.79 Total Bills Not Paid: 1,235,415.51 Grand Total: $10,136,705.51 STREET LIGHT COMMITTEE: None REPORT BY GENERAL MANAGER: • RP&L, the City of Richmond Engineering Department and Street Department have been working with the Veterans Affairs Office in designing a new road to provide uninterrupted access to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial area while securing the Johnson Street Station. General Manager Dave Osburn requested final action. City Attorney Walt Chidester is preparing a five-year lease which would make the Veteran's organizations responsible for mowing the memorial area and picking up trash. The City of Richmond RP&L—Board of Directors Minutes April 18,2005 Page 2 would be responsible for insurance on the site. Any work on the banks in the area will be taken care of by the Park Department. This lease would be renewable in five-year increments. This agreement will be brought forth to be approved at the May 2, 2005 meeting. ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
