Roll call was taken, Trustee O'Connell was absent due to illness, all other Trustees were present.
The Board considered Resolution No. 1173 calling for the temporary detour of Rt. 30 and the
closing of Lockport Street for the Harvest Fast, October 4 and Oct. 5. Speaking in favor of the
proposal was Mr. Jim Waldorf, of Main Street and Grace Schoerner. They requested that the
Mayor and the Board consider the matter favorably. Motion was made by J. Dement, and
seconded by S. Rathbun to approve Resolution 1173. Vote by roll call. Rathbun, yes; Smolich
yes; Stalzer, yes; Darnell, yes; Dement, yes. 5 yes, 0 no, 1 absent. Motion carried.
During the discussion, Trustee Smolich inquired about truck traffic on Rt. 126, and its ability to
make southbound turns on Rt. 59. Trustee Stalzer suggested that it was a good opportunity for
the Village to observe differing traffic patterns during the closing, and that perhaps some traffic
counts could be taken.
On a motion by K. Stalzer, seconded by J. Dement, the Special Meeting was adjourned at 7:13
p. m.
