A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING
SUPPORT IN THE. FORM OF PROMOTIONAL SUPPORT AND COMMUNITY
OUTREACH FOR A SOUTHEAST CITIES FINANCIAL RESOURCE FAIR
WHEREAS, Laura Barrera with LB Consulting submitted a request for
promotional support and community outreach for a Southeast Cities Financial Resource
Fair; and
WHEREAS, the Southeast Financial Resource Fair being spearheaded by
MasterCard's "Master Your Card" campaign, which is aimed at providing financial
literacy resources to Latino communities; and
WHEREAS, the event will be free and open to the community; and
WHEREAS, event is planned to take place on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at the
South Gate Park's Girls Clubhouse in 'South Gate;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council approves providing the Southeast Cities Financial
Resource Fair organizers with promotional and marketing support;
Section 2. The City Council further finds that the proposed event provides a
public benefit in the form of bringing financial literacy awareness workshops and
resources directly to the Southeast Communities, including the City of Lynwood.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 2"d day of September, 2014.
