HomeMy Public PortalAbout04-21-1997 02/ PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND,INDIANA,SERVING AS A BOARD IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE RICHMOND POWER& LIGHT PLANT MONDAY, APRIL 21,1997 1 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a Board in charge of the operations of the 2 Richmond Power& Light Plant met in regular session at 7 p.m. Monday, April 21, 1997, in the Council Chambers 3 in the Municipal Building in said City. Chairperson Bing Welch presided with the following Councilmernbers in 4 attendance: Howard "Jack" Elstro, Etta Lundy, Bruce Wissel, Sarah "Sally" Hutton, Geneva "Gene" Allen, Alan 5 Stamper, Bob Dickman and Larry Parker. Huffman responded, saying he 7 appreciated the awards. 8 9 Chairperson Welch also commented on the closing of Swayne-Robinson, noting the City is losing a business with 10 a long-time history. 11 12 UNFINISHED BUSINESS 13 14 There was none. 15 16 STREET LIGHT COMMITTEE REPORT 17 18 There was none. 19 20 MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS 21 22 There was none. 23 24 REPORT BY GENERAL MANAGER 25 26 Huffman announced the bids for the rebuild of No. 21 cell No. 2 cooling tower received at the last meeting had 27 been reviewed and recommended the bid be awarded to Custodis-Ecodyne of Itasca, Ill. for $72,920 which was 28 the lowest bid received. He said the other bids were from GEA Thermal-Dynamic Towers, Inc. for $79,987 and 29 Psychrometric Systems Inc. for $203,982 but the latter did not follow bidding instructions.
