A lease °permit the Savannah Electric & Power Co.,to occupy a strip of land 60 x 60 feet in the Public Park for use as site for the sub - station was read,but as it was necessary that an amendment be made to it it was not passed upon -- but on motion of Mr Walt}our that when this amendment was made the Mayor be empowered to sign the lease, seconded by Mr Horovitz the ration passed. G/ A meeting of Council was held to -day at 4.00 p.m. in the Town Hall at Tybee and was attendedrby the Mayor and Councilmen Espy, Walthour, Cann, Logan, Horovitz and Farr and Town Attorney McIntyre. as wee the three managers who conducted the election,Messrs John T.Collins,J.A.Weiser and Johrson A.Byers. The managers reported the result of the election held to -day, as follows; We the undersigned duly appointed managers of the election heldat the Town of Tybee, Chatham County, Georgia upon April 12.1927 for the purpose of determining whether a bonded. indebtedness in the s.m 40 o f$ 22.000.00 should be incurred byb the Mayor and Cbu neilmen of the Town of Tybee for the purpose of acquiring a plant for the distribuitddn of electric current do each hereby certify under oath that the said el t�in, o was held in themanner and the time contained in the notice Raiff section and that the laws of the State of Georgia and of the Town of Tybee were in all respects fully complied with,that said election was faithfully and impartially conducted and that the results of said election were as follows;to -wit; Total number of rotes cast 133 Total number of votes favoring the tssuance of bonds 133 Total number of votes against the issuance of bonds None Total number of registered voters 175 We therefore declare the result of said election as authorizing the issuance of the bonds as described in the notice calling said election, it appearing that two- thirds of the qualified voters of the Town of Tybee voting at said election having assented to the issuance of the bonds and the said two0thirds so voting being more than a majority of the registered voters of said Town of Tybee. The following resolution was read and upon motion of Mr Cann that it be adopted, seconder! by Mr Logan, it was passed unanamously; RESOLUTION RESOLVED at a meeting held at the Town of Tybee on April 12, 1927 by the Mayor and Councilmen o f the Town of Tybee and with all of the several managers named to conduct and who did conduct the,.i election just concluded and held i n the Town of Tybee upon the 12th day of April 1927 for the purpose of authorizing a bonder i indebtedness for the acquisition of a mSi)nicipe,l plantfor the dis- tribution of electric power and after the returns df the election had been made to the offioert calling the election and after said returns had been consolidated and the result of the election declared,which was done in the presence of and together with the several managers, that the result of said election be declared as authorizing the issuance of the bonds by the Mayor and Councilmen of the Town of Tybee as described in the notice calling said election, it appearing from the returns of said tanagers,whichsaid returns are hetteby adopted and made a part hereof,that two - thirds of the qualified voters of the Mayor • and Councilmen of the Town of.ybee voting at the said election held forh that purpose had assented to the issuance of the bonds described in the notice calling for said election,whichh said notice is likewise adopt- ed and made a part hereof, and that the said two- thirds of the registered voters of the Mayor and Councilmen of the Town of Tybee so voting are a majority of the registered voters of the said municipality. 011 motion of Mr Espy, secondedby Mr Horovit z and passed unanamously Council extended its thanks to the County Commiss ioners,The Central of Georgia Railway and Messrs Coilins,Weieer and Byers for their co- operation and assistance during the election. There being no further business Council adjourned subject to the call of the Mayor.
