The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana
met in regular session at thv: of�icc of said Board on Mondny
October Sist, 19129 at 9 O'clock A. M. All the members of said
Board being Present, to -wit: Messrs, Kennepohl, Charles and
Zimmerman, the fblloaing proceedings vrere had, to -wit:
The matter of final hearing on the assessment roll under Improve.
ment Resolu ion No. :06-1912, for the paving of North 7th St,
from Main to North "A" St. was on moti on of Mr. Zimmerman cony:

The City Civil Engineer reported the completion of contract un•
der Improvement Resolution No,-, 316-1912, for the improvement of
Test Main St, from Bridge to est 5th St. The Board accept the
same and assessment roll was ordered prepared.
The City Civil Engineer reported the completion of contract un-
der Improvement Resolution No. 329-1912, for cement roadway in
1st alley north of Main St, from North llth to 12th St, the
same was accepted and as. essment roll ordered prepared.
The Board received oomr.-ianication from the Board of Health rec-
commending the appointment of Chas. Pittman as Meat Inspector
at the H. Holza le slaughtering plant. onmotionof Mr. Mm-
merman the recommendation for said appointment was approved 17
the Board, subject to the ordinance to be presented to the
Common Council by the Board of health.

Ur. Gus. Hoolcher attorney for Jeremiah Miller Captain of Hose fj
Co, No. 4, against vhom the charge of theft was redo by §oeeph
Baetz fireman at said Hose Co., appeared before the Board stat-
ing that the Prosecutbr refused to investigate the case unless
an affidavit was filed against Mr. Miller, and requested the
Board take action in the matter, as Yr. Caller was under suspen-
ion from the department pending such investigation, Mr. Jessup
acting city attorney advised the Board to have Yx. Baetz appear
before Mr. J,Allen the Prosecuting attorney and state the facts
in the case, on motion of Mr. Zimmerman,

partment was directed to notify Yr, Baetz, to appear before said
prosecutor at 1 O'clock P,M.

Complaint was received of the dense black smoke arising from the
Minck Brewing Co., The Richmond Light Heat & Power Co., & the
Traction C®., plants, from residents on the west side of the
river, Mr. Zimmerman Lioved that if the parties making complaint
vould�,how any practical way to equip said plants complained of
with apparatus that would prevent said smoke, the city file
charges against said companies, motion unanimously prevailed.
