HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution No. 24-012 - Resolution for a feasibility study to install a pedestrian crosswalk on Fisherman Street in front of City Hall within the citySponsored by: Interim City Manager RESOLUTION NO. 24-012 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, DIRECTING THE INTERIM CITY MANAGER TO REQUEST THAT MIAMI-DADE COUNTY CONDUCT A FEASIBILITY STUDY TO INSTALL A PEDESTRIAN CROSSWALK ON FISHERMAN STREET IN FRONT OF CITY HALL, WITHIN THE CITY; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Interim City Manager of the City of Opa-Locka, Florida ("City") recommends that the City Commission authorize that a request be made to the Miami - Dade County Traffic Section to perform all necessary traffic surveys to determine the need for and feasibility of installing a Pedestrian Crosswalk on Fisherman Street in front of City Hall; and WHEREAS, the Interim City Manager has determined that if the traffic study confirms the need for a pedestrian crosswalk on Fisherman Street, the various cost options for installation of a crosswalk will be included as part of the traffic study report; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-Locka finds that it is in the best interests of the City and its residents to approve a request to Miami -Dade County to conduct a feasibility study for the possible installation of a pedestrian crosswalk on Fisherman Street in front of City Hall, within the City. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA LOCKA, FLORIDA: Section 1. RECITALS ADOPTED. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference. Section 2. AUTHORIZATION The City Commission of the City of Opa-Locka hereby authorizes that a request be made to the appropriate department of Miami -Dade County for a feasibility study related to the installation of a pedestrian crosswalk on Fisherman Street in front of the City of Opa-Locka City Hall. SECTION 3. SCRIVENER'S ERRORS. Sections of this Resolution may be renumbered or re -lettered and corrections of typographical errors which do not affect the intent may be authorized by the Interim City Manager, following review by the City Attorney and without need of Resolution No. 24-012 public hearing, by filing a corrected copy of same with the City. Section 4. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption and is subject to the approval of the Governor or his designee.
