HomeMy Public PortalAbout06-24-1991 PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA,SERVING AS A BOARD IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE RICHMOND POWER & LIGHT PLANT.JUNE 24. 1991 1 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a Board in charge of the operations of the 2 Richmond Power & Light Plant met in regular session June 24, 1991 at the hour of 7:00 P.M. in the Municipal 3 Building in said City. Chairman Elstro presided with the following Councilmembers in attendance: Lundy, 4 Brookbank, Hankinson, McBride, Parker, Morris, Hutton and Paust. Absent: None. The following business was 5 had to-wit: 6 7 APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF JUNE 3. 1991 8 9 Councilmember McBride moved to approve the minutes of the previous meetings as prepared, seconded by 10 Councilmember Brookbank and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 11 12 APPROVAL OF BILLS. He said the 25 repairs had passed the testing and all were pleased with the progress. 26 27 Mr. Huffman told the Board that the total cost of repairs were estimated to be around 300,000.00 but with the 28 involvement of EPRI and other consultants it was determined the crack was caused by the repair company and 29 there would be no cost to RP&L except for the repair of another minor crack. He said RP&L would have to bear 30 the contingent liability costs such as downtime of the unit. 31 • 32 Mr. Huffman stressed to the Board that such instances were why it were necessary to keep the depreciation 33 reserve fund at a high level. 34 35 Mr. Huffman stated that Saturday's storm had caused some problems, but no transformers had failed. He said 36 RP&L did suffer some minor damage at the plant. 37 38 Chairman Elstro asked Mr. Huffman to meet with Police Chief Rice regarding radio contact for the Police since 39 they had a difficult time reaching RP&L during the storms when RP&L's phones went out. 40 41 Mr. Huffman said there was no problem providing the Police Department one of their radios for communications. 42 43 Councilmember Brookbank thanked Mr. Huffman for assistance by RP&L for a problem at Reid Hospital. 44 45 ADJOURNMENT 46 47 There being no further business, on a motion duly made, seconded and passed the meeting was 48 adjourned. 49 50 51 52 53 Howard J.
