May Hardware Dock Expansion Application: The Commission
is reviewing the request based upon impacts upon the new
park. After discussion, the Commission will investigate
and make a recommendation at the next meeting.
Parks and Recreation Director Resignation: Mr. Cooke's
leave-of-absence was noted. The Administrator reviewed
alternatives to filling the position with the Committee.
The Committee congratulated and thanked Mr. Cooke for
his service to the City.
New ApDointments to the Committee:.. The Mayor will
present Dr. Wayne Allen and Steve Millemann for approval
to the Council on September 21st to fill Mr. Laidlaw and
Mr. Droulard's positions.
~ The final "Park Rule" sign copy, reflecting
the park rules ordinance recently adopted was discussed.
The signs are on order and the various other signs will
be removed and these installed.
Discussion with Parks Consultants: The Committee
reviewed the project elements, priorities and ancillary
issues with the consultant team. A consensus was
reached that staff and consultants will negotiate a
contract and forward that directly to the city Council.
The consultants will proceed with land investigation
issues, site review and further preliminary design work.
Regular Meeting Date: The next Committee meeting will
be Friday at 3:00 p.m. on October 20, 1989.
