N The regulat_ meeting. of Town_ Council w9s held today at 4:00 p.m.and
was attended by the Mayor and Councilmen Farr, Cann, Lspy, and Horovitz ,
e;440 and Town Attorney McIntyre.
On motion of lir Horovitz the following resolution, seconded by Mr
Espy was passed unanamously;

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS on May 2, 1927, the Judge -af the Superior Court of
Ch1►tham County, Georgia, did, upon_ the petition of the Solicitor
General of the Eastern Judicial Circujt of Georgia, pass an order
and decree authorizing and validating the issue of Bonds aggre-
gating 22,000.00 as authorized in the election held for the pur-
pose of issuing saod bonds on April 12,1927, and as described in
the notice of March 4,1927,calling said election and in the petition
and answerin the above proceedings.
NOW, THEREFQRE,BF, IT REBOLVED by the Mayor and Councilmen
of the Town of Tybee in meeting assembled, that _sealed bids or pro-
posals for the sale of the entire issue of said _bonds be advertised
for in the Savannah Press, the _newspaper in Chatham County, Georgia,
in which Sheirifs advertisements are publishecit fo ur times, on May
10,17,24,28th 1927,and in such other newspapers or periodicals,
if any., as the Mayor of the _Town of Tybee shall determine, to be
opened at 12:00 o ' clock,noon, eastern time of May 3oth,1927, at the
Savannah office of tire Mayor. and Councilmen of the Town of Tybee,
Room 2C2 American Realty .Building,Savannah,Georgia,and that the Mayor
and. Coumci.lmen do..select the highest and best bid from said pro-
posals or bids,with the provision that no bid be considered which
does not include the entire issue and at a price of not less than par
and accrued interest to the date of tleedelivery of said bonds,
which delivery shall be gas soon as saod bonds can be printed.
RESOLVED, FURTHiR, that a deposit of ten per cent,of dither
cash or certified check,accompany each bid.
RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the right be reserved to reject any
or all of eaoci_ proposals or bids.
A letter from the Citizens Bank & Trust Co was read requesting
a substantial reduction on the notes held by the Rank•the Mayor
informed Council that he had written Mr Smith about this.
A letter from the Water Carnival Float Committee was read asking
that a float be entered by the Town,but the opinion of Council
was that it should not be done.
The Mayor informed. Council that he had been in conference with
the Manager of Hotel Tybee and the Manager of The Tybee Amusement
Co relative to having open air concerts on the beach on Sundays
or holidaye over a pe riod' of 12 .- weeks* atrli. total cost of $ 1200.00
the Hotel had agreed. to pay $ 300.00,the -Tybee Amusements Co,$600.00
and that he wanted Council to give him .authority to pay the remaining
300.00.the concerts_ to be given by a 25 piece brass band over
a period of around three hours ,Mr Farr offered .objections to this
saying that he was not against the idea,which he thought wqs a an
excellent one,but that he thought that the Town should pRy its bills

before contracting_ any - unnecessary- new ones the .question was put to
a vote and Mr Horovitz mace_ a mation that the Mayor he empowered to
negotiate with the other managers. and pay $ 300.00 towards the Towns
portion of the expense of havng these concerts at Tybee,Mr Farr,
seconded same an the motion carried. 4 ,

Th *Cited to know if the Town should_furnieh electric service to
the Chiefs ,Lieutenants,Schoolteachers cottages and the opinion of
Council was that it should not.
The Mayor was instructed to have the public wharf repaired as, in
its present condition it was very daniterous.
The report of the auditors_ T.J .O'Brien & Co for the period from
May 1 1926 thru to April 30,1927 was, read and a copy_ of same was
turned over to the Finance Committee.
There being no furthr business_ Council adjourned subject to the

The Mayor, called for bids. and Mr Wood submitted the bid of the

"For your $ 22,000.00,Bonds,issued for Lighting System
purposes,Denominations t 1.000.00., dated June 1,1927, due $ 1.000.00.
June 1,1936 /1957•,interest 5 %,payable semi - annually,June and Decemberl,

based on financial statement submitted to us and Bonds delivered Lo us
in Savanna;, Georgia-
We will pay you; Twenty Two . Thousand_ Three Hundred _ Fifty Four Dollars
and Twenty Cents ($ 2.2,354.20 )and accrued interest from date of bonds
to date of delivery to us.
In addition to the abwire,we will _furnish the blank bones
free, have _t.thern prepared free, under the supervision_ of our Attorneys
but prior to delivery, you are to furnish us promptly within 30 days
and without expense to us,lawfully certified copies of all legal
proceedings,.including the election and validqtion proceedings and
such oter proofs suggested or required by our attorneys relative to
the. issuance and sale of the above bonds,from all of which our
attorneys will render an unqualified approving legal opinion that
