Minutes were approved as presented. 2. "Short -Rum" Projects were approved as presented ("A"). 3. "Long -Range" Projects were approved as presented ("B"). 4. Facility inspection and recommendations were approved ("C"). New Business Chairman Williamson opened discussion on the elements that might be contained in a new Waterfront Park near the water pump station. All discussions were based upon the City of McCall acquiring additional property and having additional revenues for construction and design. Potential Design Elements for Waterfront Park Sandy Beach Areas Turf Area Passive Area With Benches/Tables Pathway With Interpark Connector Landscaping/Beautification User Parking(No reduction in current parking spaces -possible addition.) Observation Points(Decks) Restrooms - Year Round Building Screening(Pump Station) Security Lighting Tot Lot Playground - Small Quantity Information Display(Maps & Park Rules) Park/Beach Rules and Regulations A lengthy discussion was held on Park/Beach user policies. It was strongly stressed that rules and signing need to be on a positive approach and of help to the user. It is felt that the need arises for formal rules, adopted as City Ordinances to allow Police Dept. to enforce rules/laws. The rough draft of rules are attached. Chairman Williamson is to arrange a presentation for the City Council Meeting to include discussion of park expansion, park maintenance, and park rules. Presentation set for Feb. or March. Meeting adjourned at 10:20pm. Dec. 1988 Park and Recreation Advisory Committee Park/Beach Inspection Report (Maintainance, Repair, Acquisition) "Short Run" Projects - Completion date targeted prior to Oct. 1, 1990. (These are in no order of priority.) A. Park/Beach Maintenance & Repair Plan - Commit adequate funding for an agressive maintenance program for all existing and future park sites and park equipment. Waterfront Park - Designate "Swimming Only" area and designate with buoys. F. Mill Park - Repair or replace wooden decking on observation 4' deck. Safety hazard. G. Mill Park - Improve park access on Hemlock Corner. Replace old gate, modify sloped driveway. I. Marina to Mill Park area - Cleaning, trimming, brush removal. Q,00 J.
