Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee

Members Present; Williamson, Killen, Droulard, Muller.
Members Absent; Laidlaw
Staff Present; Cooke
Meeting called to order by chairman Williamson.
Cooke presented a letter from the Dept. of Commerce regarding
"Second 100-year Trees" program. The City of McCall is eligible for
the donation of small trees for park and landscaping purpose. Moved,
seconded & passed to request City Council to apply for trees.
Committee began finalizing results from Parks and Beach facility
inspections. A working list of fifteen projects or tasks was
presented for discussion. After one hour of discussion, the list was
revised and clarified including additional proposed projects. The
members began to evaluate projects that were classified under the
following catagories.
A. "Short Run" Projects - Able to be likely completed with
normal effort and funding prior to Oct. 1, 1990. (Fifteen items
proposed).
B. "Long Range" Projects - Projects of such a scale that
completion would require major funding or major equipment/material
commitment not likely to be completed without "additional
revenue/funding sources." (Eight items proposed)
(Note - TWo projects appear on both lists.)
Chairman Williamson instructed staff to compile and develop
details for both lists. These will be presented to committee members
for inspection and modification prior to next meeting. Committee will
present to City Council as an action item during a February meeting.
Members discussed the need for park rules to assist in user
information, safety, and law enforcement. Next meeting, each
committee member will come with suggestions or ideas specific to each
site.
Next committee meeting scheduled for Mon. Jan. 16, 1989 at City
Hall, 7:30pm.
