MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF ASSESSORS
Date: June 7, 2022— Regular Session

Remote Participants: Chair Howard Hayes, Member Diane Salomone, Member Susan Barker,
Deputy Assessor James Gallagher, Senior Department Assistant Sara Acheson
Call to Order: Mr. Hayes called the meeting to order at 4:40 pm.
Declaration of a Quorum: A quorum was present. All members were participating remotely
and confirmed that they could hear each other.
Meeting Participation Statement: Mr. Gallagher read the following meeting participation
statement: This meeting will be conducted by remote participation pursuant to Chapter 20 of the
Acts of 2021. No in-person meeting attendance will be permitted. If the Town is unable to live
broadcast this meeting, a record of the proceedings will be provided on the Town website as
soon as possible.
Mr. Gallagher was monitoring the public comment/question email address and confirmed that no
questions or comments had been received.
Regular Session:
• Report of the Deputy Assessor:
2022 Motor Vehicle Excise Commitment 3 was issued May 23, 2022 and due June 6,
2022. FY22 Boat Excise Reminder Letters were issued. Demands will be issued next.
FY23 Personal Exemption applications will start being accepted July 1, 2022. Residential
Building permit inspections are being finalized, and Business Personal Property
inspections are being finalized.
• Review and approve Regular Session Meeting Minutes
February 1, 2022 and April 5, 2022 minutes; Mr. Hayes made the motion to accept the
Regular Meeting Minutes, Ms. Barker seconds the motion. Roll call vote: Roll Call vote:
Hayes- aye; Salomone- aye; Barlcer- aye; motion approved unanimously.
• Rescind Motor Vehicle Excise Abatement (2022 Bill #5627)
Mr. Hayes made a motion to rescind the abatement, Ms. Barlcer seconds the motion. Roll
call vote: Roll Call vote: Hayes- aye; Salomone- aye; Barker- aye; motion approved
unanimously.

• Uncollectible Motor Vehicle Excise Abatements:
Hr. Hayes made the motion to Clear the Levy from FY2009 per the Treasurer/Collectors
request dated April 5, 2022, Ms. Barker seconds the motion. Roll call vote: Roll Call
vote: Hayes- aye; Salomon- ayes Barker- aye; motion approved unanimously.
• Reassess Real Estate Taxes on Parcel ID#78-120-0 for FY20209 FY2021 & FY2022:
Mr. Hayes made the motion to reassess Real Estate taxes from the Estate of Alice Holler
to the Heirs of the estate identified as Margaret H. Brown and Alice M. Cross. Ms.
Salomone seconds the motion. Roll call vote: Roll Call vote: Hayes- aye, Salomon- ayes
Barker- aye; motion approved unanimously.
• Reassess Personal Property Taxes on Parcel ID#78-120-0 for FY2020, FY2021 &
FY2022: Mr. Hayes made the motion to reassess the Personal Property taxes from the
Estate of Alice Holler to the Heirs of the estate identified as Margaret H. Brown and
Alice M. Cross. Ms. Salomone seconds the motion. Roll call vote: Roll Call vote: Hayes -
aye; Salomon- aye; Barker- aye; motion approved unanimously.
• .Matters Not Reasonably Anticipated by the Chair:
None at this time.
• Next Meeting: The next Board of Assessors meeting will be July 12, 2022.
Executive Session (To comply with or act under the authority of any general or special law or
federal grant-in-aid requirements: MGL Chap 59 Sec. 60 and MGL Chap. 214 Sec. 1B):
At 4:56pm Mr. Hayes moved to enter Executive Session for the reasons noted above, not to
return to regular session. Ms. Salomone seconded the motion. Roll Call vote: Hayes- aye;
Salomon- aye; Barker- aye; motion approved unanimously.
