HomeMy Public PortalAbout07-06-1982 PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS A BOARD IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE RICHMOND POWER & LIGHT PLANT, JULY 6, 1982 1 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a Board 2 in charge of the operation of the Richmond Power & Light Plant, met in 3 regular session July 6, 1982 at the hour of 7:00 p.m. in the Municipal 4 Building of said City. Chairman Welch presided with the following members 5 present: Messrs. Elstro, Williams, Ms. Henry, Hankinson, Mills, Parker, 6 Carter and Paust. Absent: None. T.he following business was had, to-wit: 7 8 APPROVAL OF,MINUTES OF JUNE 21 , 1982 9 10 Councilman Hankinson moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting 11 as published, seconded by Councilman Mills and on unanimous voice vote the 12 motion was carried. 13 14 APPROVAL OF BILLS 15 16 Councilman Hankinson moved to approve bills in the amount of $508,220.91 17 as listed on the agenda, seconded by Councllman Carter and on unanimous 18 voice vote the motion was carried. 19 20 REMARKS BY CHAIRMAN 21 22 Chairman Welch announced the Executive Committee meeting will be Monday, 23 July 26 at 7:00 p.m. at RP&L. Chairman Welch noted it is an unfortunate 24 coincidence that the order for refund payment by the Public Service Com- 25 mission of Indiana came at the same time the requested rate increase is 26 being considered. 27 _ 28 REPORT BY GENERAL MANAGER 29 AWARD BID FOR ONE NEW 1982 CAR 30 III 31 General Manager Irving Huffman stated only one (1) bid was received at the 32 last meeting for a 1982 car. The price is for basic transportation and is 33 quite low at $5, 812.23; however, there was an alternate bid without tinted 34 windows at $5,565.54. Mr. Huffman recommended accepting the alternate bid 35 of Tom Brookbank Chevrolet of $5,565.54 with a promise of delivery of four 36 (4) days. 37 38 Councilman Hankinson so moved, seconded by Councilman Parker and on a call of 39 the roll the following was recorded: Ayes: Elstro, Williams, Henry, Hankinson, 40 Mills, Parker, Carter, Paust and Welch. Noes: None. The vote being nine (9) 41 to zero (0) in favor of the motion. 42 43 REPORT ON ELECTRIC USAGE 44 45 Mr. Huffman noted that on the fourth hot day in a row transformers often fail. 46 The load today, however, was only up to 105 megawatts, which is 10 to 15 mega- 47 watts. off normal condition without any load growth.
