HomeMy Public PortalAbout11-02-1981 PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS A BOARD IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE RICHMOND POWER & LIGHT, NOVEMBER 2, 1981 1 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a Board in 2 charge of the operation of the Richmond Power & Light Plant, met in regular 3 session November 2, 1981 at the hour of 7:00 p.m. in the Municipal Building 4 of said City. Chairman Welch presided with the following members present: 5 Messrs. Elstro, Williams, Ahaus, Mills, Parker, Carter and Paust. Absent: 6 Hankinson. The following business was had, to-wit: 7 8 APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF OCTOBER 19, 1981 9 10 Councilman Williams moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting as 11 received, seconded by Councilman Carter and on unanimous voice vote the 12 motion was carried. 13 14 APPROVAL OF BILLS 15 16 Councilman Carter moved to approve the bills as presented in the amount of 17 $426,077.93, seconded by Councilman Ahaus and on unanimous voice vote the 18 motion was carried. 19 20 REPORT BY GENERAL MANAGER 21 AWARD BID FOR TWO NEW LINE 'TRUCKS AND ONE NEW AERIAL DEVICE 22 23 General Manager Irving Huffman stated bids were received two (2) weeks ago 24 for a 19,500 GVW cab &.chassis from Studebaker, Buick, Inc. , Fred First Ford 25 and Tom Brookbank. The lowest and best bid meets the specs and was received 26 from Studebaker Buick, Inc. at a.net difference of $14,611.20 with 90 days 27 delivery date. Bids received for a 27,500 GVW cab & chassis were received 28 from Tom Brookbank, Fred First Ford and Studebaker Buick, Inc. The lowest 29 and best bid was received from Tom Brookbank for a net difference of $17,843.83 30 with a 90 -. 120 day delivery date. A motion was on the agenda to award the 31 bid for the two new line trucks to the best and lowest bidders who met the 32 specs, those being Studebaker Buick, Inc. for the 19,500 GVW and Tom Brookbank 33 for the 27,500 GVW. 34 35 Councilman Elstro so moved, seconded by Councilman Carter and on a call of 36 the roll the following was recorded: Ayes: Elstro, Williams, Ahaus, Mills, 37 Parker, Carter, Paust, and Welch. Noes: None. The vote being eight (8) to 38 zero (0) in favor of the motion. 39 40 Mr. Huffman reported bids were received for one body and accessories and one 41 aerial bucket and accessories from Altec Industries, Inc. , Delphi Body Works, 42 Inc. , Seastrom Rentals, Inc. , Teco, Inc. and Midwest Hi-Ranger. Altec Indus- 43 tries, Inc. appeared to be the low bidder; however, they did not meet the 44 specs as did not the alternate bid of Midwest Hi-Ranger. The rest of the 45 bids met specifications. Delphi Body Works, Inc. is the best and lowest 46 bidder meeting specifications for $39,950.00 with a 75-90 day delivery date. 47 A motion appears on the agenda to award the bid for one new aerial device to 48 the best and lowest bidder who met the specifications being Delphi Body Works,Inc. 49 50 Councilman Elstro so moved, seconded by Councilman Williams and on a call of 51 . the roll the following was recorded: Ayes: Elstro, Williams, Ahaus, Mills, 52 Parker, Carter, Paust and Welch. Noes: None.
