HomeMy Public PortalAbout06-15-1981 PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS A BOARD IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE RICHMOND POWER & LIGHT PLANT, JUNE 15, 1981 1 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a Board in 2 charge of the operation of the Richmond Power & Light Plant, met in regular 3 session June 15, 1981 at the hour of 7 :00 p.m. in the Municipal Building of 4 said City. Vice Chairman Hankinson presided with the following members 5 present: Messrs. Elstro, Williams, Ahaus, Mills, Parker, Carter and Paust. 6 Absent: Welch. The following business was had, to-wit: 7 8 APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF JUNE 1, 1981 9 10 Councilman Mills moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting as 11 prepared, seconded by Councilman Parker and on unanimous voice vote the 12 motion was carried. 13 14 APPROVAL OF THE BILLS, TRANSFERS AND INVESTMENTS 15 16 Councilman Ahaus moved to approve the following bills, transfers and 17 investments as presented, seconded by Councilman Carter and on unanimous_ 18 voice vote the motion was carried: 19 20 APPROVE THE FOLLOWING: 21 Bills in the amount of 1 ,098,316.44 22 Bonds and Interest Coupons 1,138,75 23 1 Payroll 115,194.76 24 25 TRANSFERS FROM CASH OPERATING FUND TO: 26 Cash Reserve Fund 52,961.58 27 Bond Sinking Fund 66,842.50 28 29 INVESTMENTS PURCHASED 30 Bond Sinking;Fund 66,842.50 31 Cash Operating Fund 1,422,153.68 32 Cash Reserve Fund 52,961.58 33 Depreciation Reserve Fund 523,074.45 34 35 REPORT BY THE GENERAL MANAGER 36 371 General Manager Irving Huffman reported the overhaul of the Whitewater 38 Unit No. 2 has been completed. 39 40 Mr. Huffman requested to receive bids for communication cable. When 41 Whitewater Valley unit was installed it was necessary to take the signals 42 from Johnson Street Station and Whitewater and collect them at one point. 43 At that time in 1953 a sixteen (16) pair cable was installed. Some of these 44 have deteriorated. With the installation of the SCADA'system more infor- 45 mation needs to get back to the Whitewater Station. Mr. Huffman requested 46 replacing the cable with a seventy-five (75) pair cable at an estimated cost 47 of $40,000.
