LIGHT PLANT, MAY 4, 1981 1 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a Board 2 in charge of the operation of the Richmond Power & Light Plant, met in 3 regular session May 4, 1981 at the hour of 7:00 p.m. in the Municipal 4 Building of said City. Chairman Welch presided with the following members 5 present: Messrs. Elstro, Williams, Ahaus, Hankinson, Mills, Parker, Carter 6 7 and Paust. Absent: None. The following business was had, to-wit: 8 APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF APRIL 20, 1981 9 10 Councilman Mills moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting as 11 prepared, seconded by Councilman Parker and on unanimous voice vote the 12 motion was carried. 13 14 APPROVAL OF BILLS, TRANSFERS AND INVESTMENTS PURCHASED 15 16 Councilman Hankinson moved to approve the following bills; transfers and 17 investments purchased, seconded by Councilman Ahaus and on unanimous voice 18 vote the motion was carried: 19 20 Approve the following: 21 Bills in the amount of 923,075.31 22 Bonds and Interest Coupons - 0 - 23 2 Payrolls 228,641.78 24 25 TRANSFERS FROM CASH OPERATING FUND 26 Cash Reserve Fund 66,842.49 27 Depreciation Reserve Fund 91,000.00 28 29 INVESTMENTS PURCHASED 30 * Cash Operating Fund 717,000.00 31 * Short term treasury notes, repurchase agreements, yielding 32 8.0% interest. 33 34 REPORT BY GENERAL MANAGER 35 363,6 General Manager Irving Huffman requested authorization to receive bids for 37 three (3) automobiles at the May 18 meeting. These cars will replace two (2) 38 meter department and one (1) engineering department cars. They will request 39 bids on four cylinder engine cars. 40 41 Councilman Paust so moved, seconded by Councilman Carter and on unanimous 42 voice vote the motion was carried. 43 44 REPORT ON REFUND 45 46 Mr. Huffman stated the final figure has not yet been established for refunding. 47 As soon as the figure becomes available, RP&L will file with the Public Service 48 Commission for a refund for the customers. The refund will be done over a 49 six to eight month period. RP&L's contract with I&M has been confirmed by 50 the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. 51 52 REPORT ON DEMOLITION OF JOHNSON STREET STATION 53 III 54 The Contractor is on the job at Johnson Street Station and has already 55 demolished a few of the smaller buildings. Mr. Huffman reported he is 56 pleased with the progress they are making. 57 58 REPORT BY CHAIRMAN 59 60 Chairman Welch set the May meeting for Tuesday, May 26 at 7:00 p.m. 61 62 ADJOURNMENT 63 64 There being no further business on motion duly made, seconded and passed 65 the meeting was adjourned.
