HomeMy Public PortalAbout03-16-1981 PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE _ CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS A BO'A.RD IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE RICHMOND POWER & LIGHT PLANT, MARCH 16, 1981 1 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a Board in 2 charge of the operation of the Richmond Power & Light Plant, met in regular 3 session March 16, 1981 at the hour of 7 :00 p.m. in the Municipal Building 4 of said City. Chairman Welch presided with the following members present: 5 Messrs. Bistro, Williams, Ahaus, Hankinson, Mills, Parker, Carter and Paust. 6 Absent: None. The following business was had, to-wit: 7 8 APPROVAL OF MINUTES 9 10 Councilman Hankinson moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting as 11 prepared, seconded by Councilman Mills and on unanimous voice vote the motion 12 was carried. 13 14 APPROVAL OF BILLS 15 16 Councilman Hankinson moved approval of the bills as presented in the amount 17 of $918,287.29, seconded by Councilman Paust and on unanimous voice vote the 18 motion was carried. 19 20 REPORT BY GENERAL MANAGER 21 22 AWARD BID FOR UNINTERRUPTIBLE POWER SYSTEM 23 24 General Manager Irving Huffman stated there was only one bid received at the 25 last meeting and it did meet all the specifications. He recommended accep- 26 tance of the bid of Solid State Control, Inc. in the amount of $29,440.00. 27 Councilman Mills so moved, seconded by Councilman Hankinson and on a call of 28 the roll the following was recorded: Ayes: Elstro, Williams, Ahaus, 29 Hankinson, Mills, Parker, Carter, Paust and Welch. Noes: None. The vote 30 being nine (9) to zero (0) in favor of passage of the motion. 31 , 32 RECEIVE BIDS FOR JOHNSON STREET STATION DEMOLITION 33 34 Mr. Huffman noted the bids would be opened and the proposal read; however, 35 all the proper signatures and accompanying papers will be checked later. 36 City Attorney Ed Anderson checked proof of publication and found it to be 37 in order. Councilman Mills moved it be accepted and filed, seconded by 38 Councilman Ahaus and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 39 40 The following bids were received and recorded: 41 42 AAA Wrecking Co. , Inc. $242,952; alternate $184,092.00. 548 days; alternate 43 365 days. 44 45 ABC Demolition, will pay City $2,240; alternate $42,240 will pay City. 180 days. 46 47 ABDO S.
