Absent: Messrs. Williams, 6 Mills and Welch. The following business was ,had, to-wit: III 7 8 Councilman Austerman moved to approve. the minutes of the previous meeting as , 9 prepared, seconded by Councilman Paust and on unanimous voice vote, 'the motion 10 was carried. 11 12 Councilman Carter moved to approve the following bills and investments, 13 seconded by Councilman Austerman and on unanimous voice vote, the motion was 14 carried: 15 16 APPROVE THE FOLLOWING: 17 Bills in the amount of $406,553.95 18 Bonds and Interest Coupons -Q- 19 1 Payroll 92,102. 76 20 21 TRANSFERS. FROM CASH-OPERATING FUND: 22 Cash Reserve Fund 67,105.92 23 Depreciation Reserve Fund -Q- 24 Utility Bond Sinking Fund . . 68,438.32 25 26 INVESTMENTS PURCHASED.: 27 '* Cash Operating Fund 168,000.00 28 ** Depreciation Reserve Fund 161,686.18 _ 29 III30 * U:S . Treasury notes maturing 6/21/79, yielding 9.0% 31 ** C.D. maturing 1/4/80, yielding 9 7/8% 32 33 • Chairman Ahaus announced the. Executive Board will be meeting .June 25 at 34 RP&L. There will be a meeting June 22 to discuss the situation on the , 35 Frankfort unit. 36 37 Mr. Bond appeared to discuss posting and placing of wire at the location of- 38 a transformer at Salisbury Road and Test Road. 39 40 Mr. Delnar:.Cox, .Finance Manager of RP&L, reported' that all electric utilities 41 effective-June 15 initiated.a new program passed by' the Indiana Legislature 42 called Project SAFE whick is a State allowance for energy. This bill was . 43 • designed to help the elderly and disabled on their heating. costs during the 44 heating season of November through March.of each year. The utilities have 45 been delegated to provide application to the elderly to apply for this energy 46 credit. They will be entitled to up to $10.00 a month during this five (5) 47 month period on all their utilities and $30.00 for heating purposes. They 48 could get a maximum of $50.00 credit for their utilities and $150.00 to help 49 pay for their heating.bills, which applies to any type heating facility. RP&L 50 is now taking applications for this credit.
