HomeMy Public PortalAbout10-16-1978 • PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS A BOARD IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE RICHMOND POWER & LIGHT PLANT, OCTOBER 16, 1978 • 1 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a Board in 2 charge of the operation of the Richmond Power & Light Plant, met in regular 3 session October 16, 1978 at the hour of 7:00 p.m. in the Municipal Building 4 of said City. Councilman Ahaus presided with the following members present: 5 Messrs. Elstro, Williams, Merchanthouse, Mills, Carter, Paust and Welch. 6 Absent: Councilman Austerman. The following business was had, to-wit: 7 III8 Councilman Welch moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting as 9 prepared, seconded by Councilman Mills and on unanimous voice vote, the motion 10 was carried. 11 12 Councilman Carter moved to approve the following bills, transfers and 13 investments, seconded by Councilman Welch_ and on unanimous voice vote, the 14 motion was carried; 15 16 APPROVE THE FOLLOWING: 17 Bills in the amount of a $ 370,280.24 18 Bonds and Interest Coupons 1,412.50 19 1 Payroll 84,431.90 20 21 TRANSFERS FROM THE CASH OPERATING FUND TO: 22 Cash Reserve Fund 67,105.92 • 23 Depreciation Reserve Fund 90,683.92 24 Utility Bond Sinking Fund 69,260.41 25 26 INVESTMENTS PURCHASED 27 * Cash Operating Fund 272,000.00 28 29 * U.S . Treasury notes maturing 11/20/78, yielding 7.8%. 30 31 Chairman Ahaus announced an Executive. Session for -Monday, October 23, 1978 at 32 7:00 p.m. at RP&L 33 34 Mr. Delmer Cox, Office Manager of RP&L, presented the recommendation to accept 35 the bid of Altec in the amount of $31,891. for one Aerial Bucket with Accessories 36 received at the previous meeting. He noted the bid by Reid-Holcomb did not 37 meet specifications. He further recommended Fred First ' Inc. be awarded a 38 contract to furnish one 1979 Diesel Powered Cab and Chassis in the amount of 39 $18,780.99 less $2,000. allowance for a trade-in for a net total amount of 40 $16,780.99. 41 42 Mr. Cox's recommendations were in motion form on the agenda and Councilman Mills 43 moved to accept motion 1 and 2, seconded by Councilman Williams and on unanimous 44 voice vote, the motion was carried. 45 46 Councilman Williams inquired about the street lights on North 18th and 19th. 47 Councilman Mills was requested to have an answer at the Executive Meeting. 48 49 There being no further business on motion duly made, seconded and passed, the 50 meeting was adjourned. 51 52 Rick Ahaus 53 Chairman 54 55 ATTEST: JoEllen Trimble 56 City Clerk
