The Board of Puhlic Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
met in regular session at the office of said Board on Friday
May 14th, 19099 at 10 0 Clock A. M. All the members of snid Board
being present: Messrs, Hallowell, Johnson and O'Neal.
The following proceedings were had to-wit:-

A petition Was presented, signed by nine resident property owners,
asking the Board to refer the matter of the improvement of South
llth street, from South C street to South F street, by constructing
cement sidewalk and cement curb and gutter on both sides thereof,
to the Common Council with a recommendation that Council pass an
ordinance authorizing said improvement to be made. The Board approves
said petition, and will make such recommendation to the Comdaon
Council at its next regular meeting.
The Board receives bids for the improvement of the alley between
North 9th and North loth street, from the first alley North of !fain
street to North A street, by constructing a cement roadway the full
width thereof, as provided for by improvement No. 17',-1909,"
as follows: -

The bid of Wm. H. Boyd being the lowest and under the estimate of the
City Civil Engineer, on motion the contract was awarded to the said
Wm. H. Boyd.
The Board postpones indefinitely any further action at this time
under Improvement Resolution No. 180.19099 providing for the improve-
ment of North 8th street, from Main street to FtWayne Avenue, by
constructing cement sidewalk on both sides thereof, between the
Points named, except such portions of said street where cement side-
walk of good quality already exists.
As recommended by the Common Council, the Board orders resolution
and plans for the improvement of 8th street, from the south linen
North A street to the north line of South A street, by gr
ng and
paving the roadway the full width thereof, between the points named.
The Board instructs the superintendent of the Municipal Electric
Lighting and power plant to install an additional Are Light at the
Intersection of 8th and Main street.
The Board did then adjourn.
