HomeMy Public PortalAbout12-15-1975 PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE RICHMJND POWER & LIGHT PLANT, DECEMBER:15, 1975 1 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular 2 session December 15, 1975 at the hour of 7:00 P.M. in the Council Chambers 3 in the Municipal Building in said City, serving as a committee in 4 charge of the operation of the Richmond Power. & Light Plant. Mr. 5 Brown presided with the following members present: Messrs. Cornett, 6 Elstro, Geier, Hilton, Marino, Merchanthouse, Mills and Williams. 7 8 Mr. Williams moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting, 9 seconded by Mr. Mills and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 10 11 Mr. Marino moved to approve the following bills, seconded by Mr. Mills 12 and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 13 14 Approve the following: 15 Bills in the amount of 17 $452,150.97 Interest Coupons 2290.00 18 18 1 Payroll 65,476.87 19 20 Transfers from Cash Operating Fund to: 21 Depreciation Reserve Fund $ 91,000.00 22 Cash Reserve Fund 60,000.00 23 Utility Bond Fund 68,745.82 24 25 Mr. John Brown, Chairman of the. Board, thanked everyone for their help 26 and cooperation during the past year. 27 28 Mr. Merchanthouse, Chairman of the committee studying the hiring of a 29 consulting firm, reported the committee favored hiring the firm of 30 Ernst & Ernst. The committee felt this firm was best qualified to do 31 the study. 32 33 The cost of the study is estimated to be around $25,000.00. 34 35 Irving Huffman, General Manager, presented the proposed budget for the 36 year 1976 showing some changes made to the original proposed budget. 37 A copy of which is on file in the office of the City Clerk. 38 39 Mr. Cornett moved to approve the amended 1976 budget for the operation 40 of the Ri d Power & Light Plant, seconded by Mr. Mills and on unani- 41 nous voice vote the motion was carried. 42 43 Mr. Geier moved to approva a Christmas gift in the amount of $10.00 per 44 employee of the Richmond Power & Light, seconded by Mr. Mills and 45 on voice vote the motion was carried.
