HomeMy Public PortalAbout07-21-1975 PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE RICHMOND POWER & LIGHT PLANT, JULY 21 , 1975 1 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular 2 session July 21 , 1975 at the hour of 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers 3 in the Municipal Building in said City serving as a committee in 4 charge of the operation of the Richmond Power & Light Plant. Mr. 5 Brown presided with the following members present: Messrs. Elstro, 6 Geier, Hilton, Marino, Mills and Williams. Absent. Messrs. Cornett 7 and Merchanthouse. The following business was had to-wit: 8 9 Mr. Mills moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting, seconded 10 by Mr. Hilton and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 11 12 Mr. Geier moved to approve the following bills , seconded by Mr. Elstro 13 and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 14 15 APPROVE THE FOLLOWING: 16 Bills in the amount of $ 604,391 .19 17 Interest Coupons 124,398.75 18 1 Payroll 67,679.12 19 20 TRANSFER FROM CASH OPERATING FUND TO: 21 Depreciation Reserve Fund $ 91 ,000.00 22 Cash Reserve Fund 60,000.00 23 Utility Bond Fund 68,745.90 24 25 Mr. Mills requested street lights on Campbell Avenue and Mr. Marino 26 requested street lights on South 3rd and 4th Streets. 27 28 Mr. Williams requested street lights in the 1600 block of Central Ave. 29 in Berry Field. Chairman Brown stated a petition should be presented 30 for this request. 31 32 Irving Huffman, General Manager, said nothing has developed on Indiana 33 & Michigan Electric's petition for a 27 per cent rate increase pending 34 with the Federal Power Commission. 35 36 Mr. Huffman said he has not heard from the Public Service Commission 37 concerning our requested 15 per cent rate increase, but he has been 38 assured there is no problem. 39 40 Mr. Geier moved to authorize Mr. Huffman to advertise for bids to 41 be taken August 18, 1975 for three truck chassis with alternate bids 42 for bodies, seconded by Mr. Williams and on unanimous voice vote the 43 motion was carried. 44 45 Mr. Huffman will be attending a Public Service Commission hearing at 46 Indianapolis, Tuesday, on excessive advertising concerning utilities. 47 He said Richmond Power & Light is not in violation. 48 49 There being no further business on motion duly made, seconded and 50 passed, the meeting was adjourned. 51 52 53 John Brown 54 Chairman 55 56 ATTEST: Margaret Mellen 57 City Clerk
